All I'd say is that would same journalist have imagined that Sissoko could have turned it around like he did? Unless of course that you mean that Jose really doesn't fancy him, in which case that's another matter altogether.

I wouldn’t say Sissoko completely turned it around. He went from being completely awful to not so awful and had a decent spell for about 10 games. He shouldn’t be getting anywhere near a Jose Mourinho team now. If we can sell for decent money we should. Really hope TND stays. Has all the makings to be a star. Just needs the apply himself.

He didn't completely turn it around but my point was really that a journalist is not a soothsayer about whether Ndombele can prove a success unless they have itk to suggest that Jose doesn't want him.

I wouldn’t believe everything being reported. When you have Jose as manager you’re going to have all sorts in the media. Up until his United spell, the majority of it was positive however the media love to cling on to him and make something out of nothing.

If Jose doesn’t want him I don’t understand why he would put himself out in the middle of a park during a worldwide pandemic to train with someone he doesn’t see a future for at our club. 1 I think that was a PR stunt for the club to get some fans on TND’s side showing he’s wanting to improve (as idiotic as the timing was) but it highlights that Jose knows there’s quality in there and just needs to work with him to unleash it.

2. I honestly don’t see Levy giving up after 1 tough season and trying to get his money back for him. Christ he’s been determined to get some good out of Lamela and Sissoko!

I’m sure when Jose had taken the job he was told that he needed to make a success out of GLC & TND.

I really don't care. Not just to do with my whole evaluation of football since Covid-19 hit either

If I was reading Lo Celso may be off I'd be gutted. Ndombele, I don't really care.

He's technically very good. But we're hanging on to his highlights real which admittedly shows some great glimpses. Issue is I could produce another highlights real 10x longer of him not trying, sauntering back to help his teammates, hiding and being absolutely fucked after 15 minutes.

Unless you are truly world-class, you need to work off the ball just as well as you do on it. And one thing you get in the premier league is players who generally give it full effort. So as nice as he may be on the ball, it really means nothing if he's not working as hard as his opponent in midfield.

If he came back looking interested and fit I'd be delighted

Revisionism here I think.

He was our best player for long periods of the 2018/2019 campaign put in a number of MOTM performances and frankly, without his turn around in form, I doubt we have finished in CL places.

Our best player in a PL season where we lost 13 PL games? Wouldn’t be tough mate. We got top 4 because anyone who competed with us for it failed to take advantage of us dropping points. Sissoko was a highlight of course and I’m not disagreeing but going from not being able to construct a simple pass or running with the ball effectively to actually doing simple things a footballer should be doing hardly constitutes being our best player.

The reality is, we’ve went from Modric to Dembele and now we bum and blow about a footballer who can’t pass longer than 5 yards and maybe go on an explosive run every now and then with hardly any conviction at the end.

Revisionism isn’t an issue. I think some fans just need to see Sissoko for who he actually is and think about what he has contributed to this team throughout his whole Tottenham career and not just a 6 month period last season.

We will not reach top 4 or compete for the PL next season with Sissoko starting for a Jose Mourinho team. Simple as.

I never said we would.

I said he turned it around for us and played to a higher standard than a lot of our stars for the majority of the season.

Edit. I think some fans need to appreciate what they have when they have it rather than just being so miserable all the time. The Spurs Legends know whats what.

Played to a higher standard which he did but you claimed his performances were what got us a CL spot which is over estimating his impact IMO. He deserves that award but he’s fairly dropped his levels this season.

Jose’s comments in December basically saying he isn’t good enough for the double pivot midfield and I can’t see us playing with a 3 man midfield under Jose. It isn’t his style.

It will be interesting for sure to see what Jose does with him.

I haven't been talking about him this season whatsoever.

We would have been fooked without him last year. He stepped up when we were completed depleted in CM and did more than just a job there for us with stand out matches vs Barca in the 1-1 draw that saw us through to the quarters and I recall a hugely accomplished performance in our 3-1 over Chelsea for example.

That's my view anyway.

I agree that Sissoko doesn’t seem to fit in a Jose midfield, more as a physical RW option, but Jose pretty much brought 433 to the premier league when 442 was still far and away the choice formation.

And our squad with good DM would look very good in 433.

Interesting that the supposed offer of Umtiti and Semedo is now actually no cash and just Umtiti or Semedo. Barca are valuing Ndombele at around £25m. Sounds a lot like journalists making it up as they go along. Also considering we’re hearing reports that we’ve got no money to spend why are we also reportedly pursuing/convincing circa £150-200m worth of talent to sign for us. One day we’re paying £50m, the next we’re skint, then we’re signing Ryan Fraser on free even though we’ve apparently not even made an offer, then we’re back to signing Hojberg for £20-30m but we don’t have any money to spend. The media are going full bipolar this spring/summer.

Because the media is shitting in their pants because they have nothing to write about.

And it's going to be like this until football is back.

In English media we don’t have money(because stadium which is completely illogical). In foreign medias we have money.

Only thing that makes me unsure of seeing a 4-3-3 is Dele Alli.....
If we go 433 I don’t see dele making the starting 11, that’s in the case of us signing a proper DM and then ndombele being able to run
