Should get a run of games under his belt now, hopefully can relax a bit and start banging them in starting with Gillingham on Wednesday.

Well he also missed a sitter against Palace and has generally not looked a threat. Just saying he hasn't exactly looked silky so far, and will have to improve a great deal to justify a starting place.

Lol so no premier league strikers have ever missed any easy chances?

Give the guy a chance FFS

Obviously his finishing has been off, and that is a rather important part of being a striker...

But, i've actually been really impressed with his all round game, his hold up play, work ethic, passing and decision making (apart from that shot yesterday...)

I think he will be a really solid player for us and although losing Kane is a big loss, i'm interested to see how Janssen can step up.

His finishing has been poor, no-one can argue with that and, ironically what he really needs is not to have loads of great games where he shows promise, but he needs one to go in. Off his shin, his shoulder, the back of his head or a horrible deflection. Otherwise he's at risk of "Soldado-ing" - nice guy, good work rate, great link up play etc but ultimately goals win games he couldn't score many.

Harry Kane still talks about that deflected free kick he took that went in against Villa as the moment it all changed for him and sent him on his way to two incredible seasons.

Saying that, I disagree with your second sentence - have seen him live three times now and he's looked really really good! Accepting the finishing criticisms above, he's been strong, runs at defenders, makes excellent runs and has brilliant feet. Against Monaco he managed to squirm away from 3 defenders around him and did it also (in a friendly I think) when Lamela or Eriksen scored from range.

He has it all but needs that goal to "get the monkey off his back". I think he'll be a great player and expect him to easily get into the teens with goals (cup games included).

How many goal scoring chances has he had? Genuine question.

The one that forced a great save by Stekelenburg on the opening day and the one against Palace comes to mind. Others?

That one against Palace Everton - he did nothing wrong and convinces me he will score.

Unfortunately when Soldado's misses came they were often just due to a clear lack of confidence.

Amazing save that one - can't believe Stekelenburg kept it out!

The unfortunate injury to Kane is hopefully going to kickstart Janssen. He will get proper game time now and I'm sure the goals will come.

I think this guy is the real deal, already shown plenty of glimpses of what he's about, and his attributes are well suited to the English league, and more specifically he brings excellent hold up play as the focal point.

Important to remember he's been getting sporadic minutes so far, hence snatching at shots knowing he's got a limited time frame to make a real impact.

The difference now is that Poch will be telling him that he's got a real opportunity, where he'll get sustained minutes and to relax and play his normal game, and the goals will duly come.

I'm actually quite excited about him coming into the team. Obviously we don't want Harry out for any real length of time but I believe a mini breather could be a complete blessing in disguise all round.

Right then Vinny, it's time to show us what you're made of. Really feels like he needs to score soon or he'll be walking the Soldado gauntlet with every passing chance.

Yeah let´s write him off... What good did it ever do us having patience with Bale? No goals, no assists and no presence whatsoever... And then after several years wasted we got nothing for him we we finally had enough and got rid?
And that little Lukafellow should also have been shown the door after 4-5 matches. We bought a playmaker

Since Janssens arrival we have been fighting relegation and there are no signs whatsoever anything will ever work.
Cheer up! We are third, unbeaten and this without hitting form yet!

Kane out? Well that´s why we spent money on Janssen. To cover when Kane is out or needs a rest and to push him.
Is he as good as Kane? Well probably not, but how many are? To write him off in September of his 1st season isn´t anything close to supporting!

Looking forward to him having a chance. He has shown glimpses of his excellent hold up play. Yesterday's chance was just an anxious shot and nothing more.

I think regardless of how long Harry is out for we have enough goals in the team to be honest. With Janssen's hold up play I would like to think more bodies will be able to get forward.....
