Daniel Levy, Chairman, said: "We have seen Mauricio bring a tremendous spirit and ethos to our Club and embrace the attacking style of play with which we have always been associated. He has built a squad of youth and experience and this season we have seen football played at the highest level - quite sublime at times. Everyone at the Club is delighted he has agreed an extended contract and we all look forward to working with him in the coming seasons. I know he is as ambitious for our Club as we all are."

That's a fucking relief. I'm usually an optimist, but the thing with Fergie even had me a bit worried.

Love Poch and his amazing team of merry men. (y)

Should we expect a few player contract extension announcements now? Vertonghen and Eriksen first, perhaps.

There will be a few conspiratists crying in their beer.

Wonderful news, I suspect hastened on by newspaper speculation.

Now manager as well, was Head Coach before?

no Baldini any more, no DOF structure. Maybe he'll have more of a say - working with Rob Mackenzie and Paul Mitchell, and if he didn't already - in the recruitment.
