The camera angle available dictates massively whether a player looks onside or offside sometimes though and what you original thought to be an easy decision one way or the other turns out to be off the mark because of the angle you’re given as a viewer
Drawing a line on 1 angle to see if an armpit is offside doesn't fix it, it exasperats it.

If after viewing multiple angles, you can't conclusively say the attacker is offside, the benefit of the doubt should be with the attacker IMO.

If we want to get our home grown players numbers up, a double swoop for Olise and Guehi wouldn't be a bad option.

Would love olise. Not convinced by guehi. Both probs cost so much, palace don’t like letting their players go for cheap

Guehi and Olise deserve to play in a better side.
From reports I've heard Olise is a bit of an Ndombele. Supremely talented but attitude and application day to day isn't very impressive. Very lackadaisical character.

City poached him from Chelsea because of his talent, but they quickly let him go to Reading, supposedly because City's coaches found him difficult to work with.

I like Guehi, for someone 22 I think he could only get better and don't under estimate the fact he is captain of a mid table premier League club at such a young age.

If only palace were a tiny bit more clinical up front they could have loads tonight

great in transition when they turn the ball over but just can’t convert it into decent chances.

it’s like having a team of Sissokos

You’re probably right. With better coaching etc I’m sure he’ll improve. Just we really need a top LCB. Maybe he could play CCB and mop up

Just wonder if they had Zaha up top instead of Mateta..

Felt Guehi has done well tonight though. Matip has had more mistakes in him as has the Liverpool defense.
Apart from the soft goal Son scored, I haven't seen him ever make that many mistakes when I have watched him and I'm that sad bastard that watches a lot of games.

I think he would be a great replacement for Sanchez as he has the ability to play across the back three due to being two footed.

Fair. You’ll definitely have a bigger sample size than me. Long contract and at palace means he’ll cost a fortune.

Could he play CCB?

Palace’s set pieces aren’t even Sunday League standard. They’re just terrible.

Bad watch, instead of lobbing it into the box they pissballed about for a few passes and then .. lobbed it in the box

Yes I can see that being his best position. Also if a new manager came in and we reverted to a four at least we know he is ready to go.

You’d only end up with more of the tin foil hat wearing brigade saying “Oh they’ve given the benefit of the doubt there because it’s Liverpool”. I see no problem with how it is currently with offside is offside and that’s that, no matter how big a margin it is. It’s the only truly fair way to do it
