Jonas talking about Soldado's replacement.

Jonas: "Can Fred replace Soldado at Valencia? Fred is a top player and an idol for Seleção and Fluminense fans. His arrival'd be fantastic."

Did anyone else see the "By Friday" stuff and just get so deflated knowing it could possibly take that long to announce it/seal it? I was hoping he would be in the squad training on Monday and hopefully get a substitute appearance on Sunday to play with Bale. Thinking of those two coming on together in Bale's first match back would be so swoon-worthy.

They just want Liverpool fans to think they still have a chance.

They've locked their Soldado thread, but this is one of the last comments.

We're not actually in for him. but you know what's going to happen? The same rags that have said that we're in for him - Evening Standard and Mirror - are going to say we've missed out on him to Spurs, even though we're not interested.
The Evening Standard will do this because Spurs are one of 'their' clubs (IE Laaahndaaarn) and it suits them to make them look ambitious.
The Mirror will do this because they're a tabloid gang of shithouses who write exclusively around 'crisis'. "Further blow for Brendan Rodgers as reds target Soldado opts for Spurs move" and so on.
Don't buy into it.
Always the victim. :ROFLMAO:

fred has a cheap buyout but is on 4 million a year. valencia would get nowhere near that.

Probably fair tbh. Even if they realised early he wanted to go to Spurs or they realised they could keep Suarez, they would both be valid reasons to not be in for him. Hence they aren't in for him even if it would suit the rags for them to lose out!
