I can't believe Ramos and Comolli would be stupid enough to buy someone who can't defend. However good he is attacking wise, it will not matter if he can't defend properly, then why buy him, let alone pay that much?

I know a lot of Rangers fans and not one of them is happy about Hutton being sold. In fact, they are saying that this window couldn't have been any worst for them (Samaras going to Celtic and Cristian Dailly going to Rangers!)

We have appeared somewhat desperate to get this guy so hopefully there's something about him......my excitement is tempered a little though by Rangers signing Dailly to replace him!

Their signing Dailly is more an indication of the inability to attract good players to Scotland... There was an article on the BBC Sport site the other day saying how Rangers were priced out of signing Matt Taylor :-|

Yeah I know Nightgoat, it was just a little tongue in cheek observation.
I think having decent full backs is hugely underrated and we now look to have good strength in depth with Bale, Hutton, Gunter and Gilberto as well as Chimbo and YPL (BAE can be dragged out back and shot IMO!)
We havent had great full backs since Perryman & Hughton or even Henry & Baker!

One thing you can count on, he won't go into his shell like some newcomers to that league. He is the type of player you always know is playing. Here are some pictures that remind me of happier times, lol

Clip 1 was against Stuttgart -looks like a Gazza slalom run.

Brilliant! Any more clips?

Both of those clips at the bottom would be sendings off now. With the new gay rules that they seem to insist on.

This is great - but it's the only clip anyone can find of Hutton doing it!

Yellow Card - But who gives a fuck? Cheeky wink is BRILLO!
Chimbonda gets more bookings for gobbing off!

How the f00k is this a sending off offence? Great tackle.

I personally think this is a great, GREAT move by the club. For all you pussy boys moaning already.. I hope he does get sent off a couple of times for some bad challenges and hurts a few people, left-wingers will be thinking twice about getting down our wing in future won't they? AND ABOUT TIME TOO!

1. It is the best example because of the beauty of the goal, but Alan can do runs like this almost at will. Often they stop him by bringing him down in the box. We've had about 4 penalties this season from these runs. He is so hard to get off the ball legally.

2. Yes it is a somewhat silly tackle, but that's the beauty of it. It was against Celtic at Ibrox, and McGeady, Celtic's best player, is well known to be scared of Hutton. The wink says it all. After this tackle McGeady does nothing the whole game.

3. If the last clip was longer you'd see that 5 seconds after Hutton wins the ball it is in the back of Celtic's goal

Ian Wright seems to think we got a bargain, and said in a couple of years 9 million could be a steal for him.

He has been talking a lot of sense on Talksport lately.
heard him say the same thing..he does a good job on talksport.he said more than once he would have signed for us but we pulled out last minute to get paul stewart...:bang: (i was a stewy fan but......)

its a bit iffy , this move.. all i know of hutton is that rangers were a bit happy to push the deal through, for supposedly such a good player for them.they are not exactly strapped for cash. and also he wasnt a regular before recent seasons and the rangers fans were a bit surprised at how well he was doing and how much he had improved.

looked ok for us against some top top players so i hope he goes on to do well for us and justify his price..

another utility player? :p

Would be interesting to see if any of the posters in this thread feel differently now that Hutton has played at The Lane.

I thought he looked good personally.

Ramos thinkis he has what we need, so that is good enough for me. And in addition to Ramos thinking he is a top player, so does Alex Ferguson, so quite frankly the opinions of those two excellent managers is good enough for me.
