The whole stadium planning saga in the last 20 odd years stinks

We should have redeveloped WHL to 48,000. The increased revenue over the last 15 or so seasons could have helped to fund a big new shiny stadium, if that's what they really wanted

For Tottenham Hotspur to have had a ground capacity of only 36,000 for all these years is disgusting

Irving Scholar probably thought the same when he built the west stand.

Irving Scholar didn't build the West stand! ;)

He bought the club after the previous owners had got themselves into trouble building the West stand.

So it was surprising that he thought it a good idea to repeat the trick a few years later when making a dog's dinner of the Shelf side redevelopment.

Sorry, you are correct.

At this point probably need a rich nfl franchise to step in before this enic pipe dream ever comes to fruition

Anyone who thinks it's a pipe dream need only take a very short walk off the High Road, to the main site entrance, to see that it's already well on its way to being built - with the outline of the stadium footprint, formed by sheet piling, clearly visible.

It would be a very long walk for some people who don't live close.

Anyone able to take a photo of this next time they are around! Ta

Glad too see we are looking to go bigger, after all we only really get one shot at this, well for the next 100 years or so anyway.

There's photos in the Stadium thread :)

I noticed a few weeks back that the outline for the stadium is clearly visible. So I suspect if there are changes, the actual shape of the stadium won't be too different.

You think the stadium's only ever been a 'pipe dream'?

I'm sure they've made serious plans but enic alone doesn't have the funds to just push through to create a large new stadium out of thin air which is why I belive levy really wanted the OS as that would've been within their power. And as time goes on its only going to get harder and more expensive to build it. They need a partner

Basically I really wouldn't hold your breath seeing it any time soon unless they secure one be it nfl or some filthy rich tycoon/company that wants somekind of stake in Tottenham

As people have said, work is happening. We know ENIC need some sort of financial assistance but we have no idea how far the line they are with that so I'm not sure how it's a pipe dream.

would we really fill 61k week in week out?
Probably not. We wouldn't fill 56K every single week either in all probability. I'm not sure that's really the point though- many more people would still go to the games and that will bring in a lot of money I hope.

I doubt we will have 61,000 capacity. Nobody would buy a season ticket if you could get a ticket for most games.

10k will be corporate. 3-5k will be away fans. I thin around 1k have to be given to local residents as agreed with the build. You don't think we could sell 45k? If 30k were season tickets that would only be 15k tickets we'd need to sell each week.
