I don't know if anyone watched tonight, but it was a replay of a 'classic' match between spurs and the scum...the 2-2 draw when they won the league.
The team was obviously different in personel than today, but there was a decent amout of quality. From what I can remember the following players all played:
Keane
Defoe
Kanoute
Poyet
Brown
Redknapp (captain)
King
Gardner
Tarrico
Davies
Not as bad as they looked, especially considering keane, kanoute of today, and Poyet was a good player. Kings always been quality.
Some nice play, but not like what were treated to today. Speed was absent, terrible at defending (a gardner pass to Henry was comical) and no fancy enterprise with what we have today.
By contrast Henry, Pires, Viera (i hate them all...but respect them) were interchanging brilliantly. There first goal though, something that was all about arsenal (a break from one of our corners) had me wondering if we could score a goal like that. To be honest, the answer is yes. Thats just how we can break on and tear apart teams today. The only noticeable difference between their team on that day and our team of today is that they can stroke the ball around better, with quicker and more accurate passing. That said, that Arsenal team would beat their team of today.
So all in all, I thought I'd write this terrible long post to say, we don't really have it too bad at all. We play some brilliant football, and it takes a step back in the past sometimes, to realize how far we've come in four years.
