I think he's been fairly consistent the last month or so. There's still bits of his game that I don't like, but overall he's been pretty good.
I’ve always said there is a player in there just need to iron out a few rash challenges and he’s got it all to be a top attacking RB, exactly why we signed him.

Not sure what your point is? Are you upset that your boy Winks played terribly? Look mate, he isn't cut out for it, it's been clear for ages. He isn't up to the required level. I lost count the amount of times he lost the ball today. He does nothing on the ball either. 5 yard sideways passes is his biggest attribute.

And FYI Jose can only make 3 subs. He even said in his post match it could easily have been Winks he took off. I imagine part of Jose's thinking was Winks is far more likely to last the 90 fitness wise, and Dier wouldn't, hence who he picked. They were both fucking abysmal.

If you think Jose won't have noticed how shit Winks is, think again. I'll be gobsmacked if the begging of next season Winks is in Jose's first 11, utterly gobsmacked.
Imagine watching a 0-2 to 4-2 come back and then go on to sit and spew that shit. Be happy.

Jose getting a tune out of Eriksen already. Best he's played in ages, totally proven wrong. When he brought him on I thought wtf, as did most of us.

Poch brought him on quite often this season, even started him, and he was shocking each time. Today he was more back to his old self. If Jose gets a tune out of him again that would be amazing management.

Jose Man of Match. Changed the game with that proactive sub.

He may flame out after 2-3 years, but we are lucky to have him right now.

What are you on about? I'm delighted, just take exception to his post and Winks's performance. He's by far our weakest link in the team and I don't want to see him starting anymore.

Yeah, you don't get the point. that's for sure :D

Hold on, SC told me he always hangs his players out to dry in-front of the media?
Im confused.
give it time my friend. We are in the bus building phase. Next season we park it and the next we crash it. Once you understand the cycle you understand the methods. I would have faith that you'd get there but then again you want that google chip in your head. Dier will be his Matic or Luke whatever his name is the LB at ManU.

Just got back from the match, thought it'd be fun to look through the forum commentary during the match...

Really disappointing how many on here jump on Winks at any given opportunity. The whole team were playing shit, we looked half arsed and second best to everything. Dele made some awful passes and Son had one of the worst halves of football for us. Kane was static and hardly in the game. But it's Winks who was singled out as the one 'not good enough for this team' or 'for this level'.

Knee-jerk. He played well in the second half, as did the rest of the team.

So weak Mourinho kept him on the pitch for 90 minutes in both of his first two games. Fuck off with your toxicity.

To be fair @Primativ is probably like me in that he’s a winner and he looks for areas to improve. Doesn’t mean he’s unhappy with the comeback but we are far from perfect and whilst I like dier and winks I’d also be surprised if Jose starts next season with dier and winks if he wants to get us to say seriously challenge for the title next year, I also don’t think either of them are good enough. In time Ndombele will be but we need a top class DM or CM to go alongside him.

At Madrid he had alonso and khederia i think, at Chelsea prime matic and fabregas, at inter cambiasso and stankovic, sorry but winks and dier won’t cut it if we want to win big things we need to be ruthless.

Jose is buttering them up now as currently they’re probably best suited to how he wants to play but longer term Jose isn’t stupid and he’ll know he likely needs to upgrade them.

if Dier gets back to full fitness and Jose coaches winks to not give the ball away as much in dangerous areas then small chance they might survive as our CM2 and is bloody love that young English core if they did, but I’m also realistic.

Even at 2-0 I could see tge comeback.

Really? I thought we were all at sea despite Jose's repeated instruction to calm the fuck down. Their horrendous mistake for the first goal - combined with Jose's quick decision to change things up by hooking Dier - turned the game.

But if that mistake hadn't happened and DIer hooked for Eriksen of all people... :D

We were much more at it second half - which means more of ourplayers showed Winks' like tenacity @Primativ who, while not maybe the best we can be was the only player who showed the fight we need first half.

Jose understands this. Lesser minds don't

Not sure which game you were watching? Winks was guilty of giving the ball away and actually creating chances for the opposition? I'm sorry but tenacity is not enough to play for Spurs. People are actually blind when it comes to Winks, it's unreal. You do realise Jose said it was a toss up who to take off, Winks or Dier.

Look, Winks was by far standout one of the worst players in that first half, let's not rewrite history. He improved like the rest of the side did second half, but the thing with Winks is, he just isn't good enough.

We aren't winning anything with him in CM for us. Mourinho is great but he isn't a magician. Not sure why some lesser minds like yourself can't see that.

Anyone else see Gary Nevilles comments about Jose and levy being a relationship of convenience.

It was really disappointing to read as until then I’d liked Neville as a pundit but it kind of belittled is really almost saying Jose is using us as a stepping stone back to top management but I think thsts just suck bollocks and really not sure why he’s said this especially as he worked with Jose at sky.

jose is 55, he probably thinks he’s realistically got 10-15 years left in management, mabye 10 at the top. He lives in London and ideally wanted a London job, he’s at a club which has a good squad, an amazing infrastructure, is only going in one direction and is a nice challenge and he loves an underdog challenge that’s what motivates him so spurs really is the ideal fit. Hopefully he does well and stays for 3-4 years then he’s nearly 60 and as he said could go back to Portugal to manage the national team or his old local team etc. He’s managed top clubs in every league and won trophies everywhere, why would he go anywhere else after Spurs? If he’s successful with us it’ll be one of his biggest achievements, he’ll have proved to everyone once and for all what a simply incredible football coach he is and has been and he can then wind down his career ideally in Portugal.

g.nev is a twat is basically what I’m saying.
