Mate I literally got into a back forth because the moany old ****s behind me were giving him dogs abuse in a game a couple of years ago. I was signing his praises before the game today even!

Standing ovation is a bit ott still. It’s not that deep though.
Either way... Top of the league!

Arsenal bottom.

Pints all round.

I thought Sanchez and Dier were fantastic again. Skipp and PEH player well but I'm not convinced they should be playing against every team together as I don't think they help us control the ball.

I think front 3 looked more tame with Kane in it. I liked the 3 pacy players up top.

Re the atmosphere , it was no where near rocking like it was against City , atmosphere seems to depend on opposition , when we play a team we expect to beat it's never the same as playing one of the so called big teams.
It's the same elswhere, at Anfield , 2019/20 season I think it was against Watford , Klopp had to start urging the crowd to make some noise as they struggled to break down Watford

Not going to say we don’t deserve to be top, it hasn’t exactly been pretty but winning when are not playing well is a good habit to get into. That said lot of work to be done especially in midfield. Don’t think Kane is fully fit yet.

One thing as I said at half time disappointed the the crowd inside the stadium, very quiet which is a shame. The crow at the massive new stadium could be such an asset, the place holds the sound and can be very intimidating to opponents, but the fans have to our part.

Don’t want to see any form of Highbury the library at our ground thank you very much.
Not sure if you went to the right football ground then... We're actually playing pretty well, and there was plenty of noise for a Sunday afternoon match against a relegation candidate. I didn't lose my voice like the City game, but there were sufficient renditions of the usual songs.

Sounded pretty good on TV for the most part.

To be honest the atmosphere was shit! I only thought about this part way through first half but had couple of chants but most of it was was people talking amongst themselves (I was as guilty as the next person)

Despite being a season ticket holder for over 10 years To day was my first home game in nearly two years. Various reasons I haven’t been prior to lock down.. anyway on the walk up to ground from seven sisters started to feel quite emotional. Didn’t expect it to be honest but suddenly hit me how much I missed this place and Was so happy to be finally going back Home!

Atmosphere was tense more than quiet. I don’t think the fans could trust us at 1-0 to win and go top. But everyone was behind the team.
Defence solid. Back 4 transformed. Plan is clearly to build a solid base and grow from here.

I wonder why some fans even go to games, the guy behind me complained about every little thing the entire way through (he stopped for about a minute after we scored). Seems a lot of money to spend when you don’t seem to enjoy yourself even a little.

No it wasn't. They were both poor for a long time before Jose. I keep seeing this written about different players but it's simply not true

I think it's fair to say that Mourinho's tenure exacerbated any negative tendency these players might have had. They declined under him.

Whether they were good before is up for debate but they got worse during Jose's time.

Genuinely believe inviting teams onto us after we took the lead (no matter how early we scored) put too much pressure on the defence and they just cracked more often than not.

With Skipp as added protection in front and Tanganga proving he isn't easy to get past, plus not being camped on the edge of our box for 90 minutes we look so much more assured. I never thought Dier and Sanchez were bad defenders, just not good enough to invite pressure all game and hold out due to the likelihood of an error or two at some stage.

Are any defenders out there really good enough to invite pressure and last ditch defend for 70-80 minutes a game without making at least one error?

It must be as mentally draining as much as physical.

Well wasn’t a classic, should have wrapped it up with dele, Kane or dier.
Sanchez was brilliant, really quite happy for him. By far MOTM for me

who would have bet that we would have 3 clean sheets - with dier and Sanchez, 3 wins and would be top of table going into international break
