Cheers, that's what was needed from the start. A statement with a reason backing it up.
I don't understand it mind you.
I wonder how much you would be loving soldado if he scored two but wasn't 'peripheral'....

Thats Kind of Soldado's job though mate isn't it. Siggy's a midfielder who should be doing much more than he is. Works hard, seems a nice lad not going to get too critical he just isn't right for our system and isnt quite at the level of others in the squad for me. he doesnt have the tools.

You guys should remember that Avb wasn't happy with how close these 3 matches were together. With that in mind, I believe he will go for maximum rotation where possible

Siggy is OK and will flourish in a WBA or Villa team, but we've raised the bar in terms of overall quality and unfortunately how ever hard he try's. he'll never reach it.. This is no stain on Siggy, but we've got far more talented players ahead of him fo r him to ever stake a permanent claim for a starting role.

Is it just me but I seem to get just as excited about the team selection as the match itself.

I wouldn't disagree with that but it's not the point I was trying to make. I just got annoyed at the flippant statement that other poster made that he don't 'warrent' a start after scoring two and then with nothing worth while to back it up with.

Looked off the pace so far, how have you arrived at that conclusion?? His 15 mins against Arsenal or his first full 90 minutes in a game that was more like attack vs defence, i despair. I cannot agree with your opinion about him based on such little evidence but as for sitting him out against Cardiff to then give him 90 against Villa fair enough BUT not because he hasn't looked good enough.
I agree I think he has looked off the pace so far, however it is quite understandable. I remember Sandros first game, he was bloody awful, it's just about settling in, and Lamela needs enough time to get on the pace.

ahh ok mate, fair dooze! Its a tricky one because whilst i agree its hard to drop a midfielder after 2 goals but when a midfielders job is so much more than that, all of which he was very very average at against Norwich (i was there) for me he has no pace to go down the outside so will always cut in, lacks the vision to thread a ball, has neither the trickery or skill to beat a man and so simply should not start in the premier league, with no Rose overlapping today its essential Townsend plays left for me to stretch the play, i'm not a fan of the inverted wingers 100% of the time need to be more flexible and less predictable than that.

If we don't have a natural lb like rose or bae then we can't play sig. We give up half of the pitch. I would start Holtby, Eriksen, Lamela once they are all fit. Those 3 can rotate around and I think offer a lot of creativity to put Soldado in more goal scoring opportunities.

I was angry holtby wasnt on earlier. He came on at 88minutes and changed the team. He is always keen for the ball he makes good, quick passes and finds space. He deserves a more important role imo.

In a game of attack v defence, for 90m minutes, he didn't exactly do a lot.
It will take time for him to settle. He doesn't speak any English according to AVB, he's young, and he is trying to get into a team that is playing pretty well and winning games. He'll be fazed in. A tough away trip to Cardiff wasnt the game to do it.

As for your opinion on me being stupid - stick it up your :poop: hole :)

Agree on Townsend. Pacey and tricky, but shoots too often from too far out. Wasted opportunities that some like Eriksen or perhaps Lamela would make the most of with a decisive pass.
Nice dilema's to have though. Lamela Eriksen and one of Townsend/Lennon/Chadli/Sigurdsson/Holtby feeding Soldado (who really needs to hit the net from open play soon) is an exciting prospect.
