Would definitely start Eriksen here, get his fitness up etc.

I honestly think Kane needs a rest, so Chadli up top - and I wouldn't start him against City. And Dier is crucial for the City game as we'll be doing a lot of defending.

We still want a strong team out though but lets use the squad a bit to and I hope Mason is back, with that in mind:

Lloris

Trippier
Toby
Jan
Rose

Carroll
Mason

Son
Lamela
Erisken

Chadli

We want that three in behind increasing their understanding and building on what we saw today.

I like the look of that side, Arsenal won't offer a physical threat, more a technical one...so that side looks pretty good to me.

If Mason is unavailable I'd go with Carroll in his spot.

I think Poch will probably rotate Toby for Wimmer but I'd rather we stick with the first choice pairing for the NLD.

In attacking midfield Chadli deserves to be dropped from the league XI, Eriksen brought in to get his fitness up, and Son retained to keep up his good run of form and give our new hero a chance to make his mark against the scum. Townsend, Alli, and Lamela on the bench as potential impact subs.

Kane is a tough one. After that shot from a ridiculous angle in lieu of pulling it back to Lamela for a tap-in I honestly think he needs to be dropped to send the message that he should put the papers aside, do what's best for the team and his goals will come. There's also the fatigue factor. On the other hand he'll be raring to go and we're short of alternatives. Not really sure what would be best TBH.

Vorm
Trippier Fazio Jan Rose
Veljkovic Mason
N'Jie Eriksen Pritchard
Son

Lloris, Wimmer, Carroll, Winks, Lamela, Townsend, Kane

I would have swapped the assisgnments at GK for Qarabag and this, but oh well. We need to rotate. Dier took a knock vs Qarabag, and then played the full 90 vs Palace. Needs a rest. Veljkovic is a DM/CB. Start him. And start Pritchard. Sink or swim.

Give Alli a rest for this one so he's fit and ready for City. He'll get NLD action soon enough in the league

I would like Lamela to start centrally again.

He capable of playing midweek and I'd like him to continue his form. There's a player there and giving him continual minutes will help in bringing that out.

would prefer not to have two left footed players at the back

Would you take two right footed players at the back? I don't see the difference. Of course, a left and right footed player would be a nice combination but I'm not really fussed either way.

Working back for the Man City game and trying to spare legs wherever possible, especially in midfield, but the only player that we cannot afford to rest atm is Dier, whose physical presence we will need for both the derby game and to provide defensive protection against a rapier like City front 4. It's a shame but with Mason/Bentelab and Dembelle all out for both games we are thin in CM.

Eriksen could use 60 minutes midweek to work him back into the 11 for the weekend and GK and CB as spinal positions that run less km/game are more able to tolerate a doubled up workload (though Alderweild is also due a rest I'd give him the Monaco game off)

V Man City:
Kane
Son Eriksen Lamela
Alli Dier
Davies * Vert Alderwield Walker
(*whose a better defender than Rose v league leaders)
Lloris

V Arse: Chadli
N'jie Eriksen Townsend
Carrol Dier
Rose Wimmer Alderwield Trippier
Lloris

With hopefully more kids getting minutes of the bench later in play if we are able to give Pritchard, Winks and Onomah game time rather than turning to Kane, Son and Ali to save the game.

I'd play:

Vorm
Trippier Fazio Wimmer Rose
Winks Carroll
Townsend Pritchard* Chadli
N'jie
Eriksen in place of Pritchard if he's still injured.

This is a throw away game for me - I know - sacrilegious, but with the match congestion coming up, I would treat this as a 3rd round League Cup game - despite the opponent. If we get past them, great, but I am not losing any sleep over a League Cup result.

Vorm
Tripper Fazio Wimmer Rose
Winks Carroll
Townsend Eriksen (60 minutes) Clinton
Chadli

Bench: Lloris, CCV, Walker, Mason, Lamela, Onomah, Alli
