One thing is for sure that soldado has to start, keep the guys confidence up and we will see a great striker. Every time he plays well or scores he dropped the next game!! Plus lamela looks much better with bobby in front of him

Spot on x2.

He clicks with ceballos as well.

I'd be happy trading townsend and cash for MS and bring ceballos through. His all-round game appears to be far more advanced than townsend's.

I think this makes a lot of sense; using our 3 most productive AMs.

I want to see Kane in the squad given 1 goal/1 assist this week but its not clear how he would fit into that line up. Maybe don't play 1 of the DMs? But then QPR plays 3 CMs.

I wouldn't mind seeing us play a 433 at all:

Paulinho Capoue Bentaleb

Lamela Adebayor Eriksen

But I think Pochettino is dead set on a 4231.

I would like to see Solly in Ade's place. Otherwise in complete agreement.
Enough pace in that front 3? Its a nice blend but Lamela is the only one with any pace Kane and Eriksen fairly similar players IMO although i'd be hard pushed to argue who else would start, Townsend instead of Eriksen or Kane hmm.

Wow soldado scores a goal and suddenly we should drop Adebayor who was our best striker by far last season and also scored a cracking goal in his pre-season game at the lane and put in a good shift against west ham.

Some of you guys make me fucking head hurt sometimes lol.

Jesus, I really like that. Reckon that is how Van Gaal would have set us up. Would probably go more for a Paulinho over Capoue as the back 3 should give us defensive solidity

I hope for this team, Lloris, Dier, Vertonghen, Kaboul, Davis, Dembele, Capoue, Eriksen, Lennon, Lamela and Soldado.

I think the combination of Lamela, Eriksen and Soldado could develop and become fantastic for us. COYS

For me I'd love to see:

Lloris

Kaboul Dier Vertonghen Rose

Capoue Bentaleb

Lamela Kane Eriksen

Soldado

I'd rather start Sandro or Dembele over Bentaleb but their fitness isn't there yet. I really want to see Kane given the #10 role behind Bobby after his recent success. Ade was all over the shop against West Ham and clearly isn't 100% fit or well yet.

----------------------- Lloris ----------------------
Dier ---- Kaboul -------------- Verts ----- Davies
----------- Capoue ----------- Dembele ---------
- Lamela ------------- Kane --- ----------- Eriksen
--------------------- Soldado ---------------------

I picked Soldado over Adebayor simply because I think it's important to keep him scoring early. Adebayor was incredibly 'meh' against West Ham.

The 3 in behind Soldado were based off current form (and the inability to ever drop Eriksen). Kane has been good so far, Lamela, too.

In the holding 2 I think we could see Bentaleb there, but it's important to really have good passers of the ball and the ability to retain possession as QPR is likely going to jam the midfield and try to kill us on the counter.

In defense, I think it's kind of self-explanatory apart from LB. I don't want Dawson playing and Chiriches isn't ready (apparently). So, the CB duo is what it is.

Bentaleb is, easily, the best passer of our 5 CMs. If you didn't catch tonight's game, he hit 6 pinpoint balls to the wingers as well as 10-15 little verticals balls into one of the attacking 3 in space. It's becoming clear that, under Sherwood, he was advised to nit lose the ball but Poch wants him to get it forward quickly and he's absolutely excelling.

Loris in goal wow that was easy.
Dier, do we have another right back right now?
Kaboul and verts central
Davis for left back for me.
Now here's were it gets intetesting.
CM 2 Capoue and Eriksen, Eriksen doesn't press very well from the front 3, but he does posses good eye for a pass.
AM 3 Lamela Kane and Holtby, these 3 would press very well and implement pochs philosophy.
Up front Bobby, he links up play so well and will create for others.
Ade, takes to many touches and does not press very well, plus he's not fit.

I think he's got the potential to be the best CM of the bunch. But, it's more than just being able to play accurate long passes in terms of maintaining possession. Also, Bentaleb had a couple of really poor giveaways against West Ham and if they happened against a better counter-attacking side it could have been costly. I just think that Dembele is a bit more controlled in possession with the ability to really hold up in a packed midfield.

I think we're going to have to get used to CMs losing possession more under Poch given he asks them to play riskier balls.

I really like Dembele, for precisely the reasons you give. Part of me thinks that, at home, against a smaller side, do we need a dedicated DM? Maybe that is Tim's Gillet talking through me :). I would not be unhappy with any 2 of Capoue, Dembele or Bentakeb really, think they are the three who are least similar to each other so different combination offer different strengths. Sandro is clearly out of favour and poor Paul is woefully out of form.

I'm sticking with my hunch of what will work well dynamically.

Lloris
Kaboul Dier Vertonghen Davies
Capoue Mason
Lamela Eriksen Ceballos
Soldado

Subs : Vorm, Rose, Holtby, Chadli, Townsend, Kane, Ade

There is absolutely no chance that Ceballos will start this game. He probably wont make the bench.
