Following the departure of Andre Villas-Boas, the Club can announce that Tim Sherwood has been appointed Head Coach with a contract to the end of the 2014/15 season.

Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: "We were extremely reluctant to make a change mid-season, but felt we had to do so in the Club's best interests.

"We have a great squad and we owe them a Head Coach who will bring out the best in them and allow them to flourish and enjoy a strong, exciting finish to the season.

"We are in the fortunate position of having within our Club a talented coach in Tim Sherwood.

"We believe Tim has both the knowledge and the drive to take the squad forward."

Chris Ramsey, Les Ferdinand and Steffen Freund complete the First Team Coaching set up.

Why dont I like him? Im pretty sure I have gone on and on about it the past few days in dicussions with you and tiger in various threads...

If we play like we did the last 2 games under him, we have 0 chance at top 4. May not even get Europa.

And a new guy, new to the club will take how many Prem games to get familiar with the club?
It's horses for courses mate, by the time the new guy comes in and lays down a foundation then top 4 will be gone too, at least there is a semblance of continuity with Sherwood.

I'm not wild about Sherwood as our manager; I don't think he's a shrewd as has been made out by some, it does feel like a regression to Redknapp-style philosophies which I believe to be largely archaic.

However, his knowledge of the youth players and potential integration of them, his closeness to the chairman and thus understanding of the need to actually play new, expensive players and the utter paucity of viable progressive managerial candidates until the summer leads me to believe that appointing him til the end of the season is probably the best way forward.

With the talent we can call upon, there is every chance that we can achieve some of our goals too, after all for all I was no fan of Redknapp, he got some great results playing his way & the attacking side of our play is so promising that if we replicate what we did against Southampton against some of the shit teams, we'll get a load of goals and wins.
