Dirk Kuyt has had 50 shots in the league this season scoring 2. Better than Downing, but then again most linesmen have done a better job down the flanks than Downing this season.

Yeah not very good but then who was for them last season? He's still got a ratio of a goal every four games or so and i'd take him as a quality addition to the squad.

Actually, if I wanted us to take advantage of Liverpool's position at the moment, I would try and get Reina, Skrtel or Enrique in. Reina is coming to the end of his contract and made no secret about him wanting to leave Liverpool.

I don't understand why if Kuyt is supposedly available for cheap that people wouldn't want him. So many people have been moaning that we don't have enough strength in depth and we overplay our starters and yet there is a premiership experienced, international experienced, versatile workhorse for cheap and people think it would be bad? Sure he wouldn't be first choice but he wouldn't be bad for us either.

Gd to hear JJ saying the deal is still being worked on and progressing! I had heard levy was playin hard ball with the transfer fee again!
Regarding the birmingham players i heard redmond is a target but not a priority atm and butland is on a list of 4 goalkeepers but Foster was our main gk target but now he is injured that might have changed.
Hopefuly this window will be alot better than january!

I thought Foster had his tonsils out last week and that is why he could not play against the scum. I wouldn't have thought that was a long term concern.

this isnt ITK but some go to malaga during close season for a holiday

Here we go again.

After a chat about things, JJ will be saying anything he has to say via The Goat from now on.

Something we weren't keen on is that every time he posted info a barrage of questions followed. Not only is this unfair on JJ its unfair the rest of SC's ITK followers who aren't logged on and following the thread as it happens. One person asks a question, so then another follows suit and although its all well and lovely for a few who can't resist in the main it makes keeping the ITK threads up to date impossible. This was making things muddled and confusing.

As I said above, after a chat about it, JJ has decided he won't be answering questions so please DO NOT ask them. If there's anything to say, he will say it through the Goat and as with every other piece of ITK that gets posted, you'll have to make do with what you get.

So, unless stated, anything The Goat posts you can assume you know the source. 'kay everyone? And your assistance in this by not asking questions would be appreciated.

I'll leave this thread locked for a while so that this post gets a decent airing and it'll be repeated during the next daily round-up.

I can think of three reasons to be wary of Kuyt

1) He will be 32 in July.
2) Just complained about playing time at Liverpool, and would face the same restrictions here
3) Would take a chunk out of our wage budget

Yer i didnt know what his injury was. I was told my info last week before the game about butland so i was just saying if it was a bad injury it might of affected our interest.

There is a banner at the top of the forum which says "The Transfer Rumours and SC ITK forums are now open".....both are clickable links which will take you directly to the relevant sections. Very handy indeed

As for the rumours so far, I have to say I'm really on the fence with Kuyt. Part of me is screaming "Noooo", but then my head starts to rationise this and thinks he could certainly add something and was always a bit of a big game player as well. Still not too old either, although he would have to agree that he wouldn't be a first team starter.
