Cos 'Arry has worked wonders with Dos Santos

The manager can only do so much, ultimately the player has to want to be the best he can be.

Dos Santos strikes me as the type of superstar wanna be who has always been naturally gifted and things come to him too easy for too long and as a result he doesn't have the stomach to fight for success within the sport.

I think he enjoys the money and the lifestyle being a top level and international footballer brings but when it comes down to it he prefers to take the easy way out rather than fight hard to get his place in the time and make the most of his god given talents.

He is already a star for his national team and made for life, he will always find a club who will pay him a decent wage and he will probably be good enough to play for mexico of the foreseeable future too.

This seems to be enough for him and he prefers his party life to one in which he would sacrifice to take his career to the next level.

I don't think Harry can be blamed for GDS not making the grade with us, HArry has a whole squad of players he needs to work with what has GDS done to show he is worth special attention? you can only lead a horse to water you can't make it drink and Harry can only work his magic with young players if deep down they have the desire to succeed.

Harry has by his own admission had talks with GDS's family about his attitude and such so he has attempted to mould him and inspire him but it would seem GDS is simply not prepared to put the level of effort into training that would affording him first team chances and when he was given game time he would put little to no effort in.

Even in a team that lacked shape and performed poorly both times he has played this season I did not see and desire to prove his worth, where was the fight to win the ball? tracking back and helping the defence? he did nothing and was content to wait for the ball to come to him and do nothing with it whenever it did.

GDS is a perfect example of wasted talent and the sooner we can ship him back to Spain or Italy where he can be a big fish is small pond and flatter to decieve loike he does for his national team the better.

Could you elaborate there? We know from the financial results what we pay in wages and from what I recall we're no where near and our wage/income ratio is very good with lots of room from increase...?

yes mate

this is because we have a strict wage limit, its also part funded by our transfer funds & vice versa....

so basically what we have to spend on a transfer budget we also use some of that to "fluff" up the players wages....

vdv for example would be seen on paper as 50k but take it from me he is on around 80k, he is basically the top earner now & so he should be...

however this doesnt show on our ratios so inturn helps the club look healthier

Not picking on you mate  but...

Have a look at who they signed.

Actually I'll include Chelsea because so far, they've drawn a blank this window.

Liverpool have paid double their initial bid to sign a partner for Torres...
Suarez is a good Tevez type player but Spurs felt he wasn't what we neeed, and he wasn't. He is not a traget man, more preferring to come in off the right flank and tuck in. We have Lennon in that role doing ok.

Birmingham. Come on!! They need fire power just to remian static and they do not dine at our table - indeed Keane denied being offered a deal in order to decline it. That says a lot about the quality of striker that Birmingham are pursuing.

West Ham have signed a crock. Signed - not loaned. He failed a medical at Stoke. Again Demba Ba? I doubt he was on Harry's C List of desparate last minute Rasiak type deals.

Spurs will have a specific type of player and profile of personality that they want to embellish our current squad. Cash will be spent when and if that player is made available to us.

lol...i no yer not avin a pop, am just saying its all relative, they all needed particuar types of player to serve a purpose and got them...for whatever reaon we havnt...yet!

Adie... We have bid for Carroll 3 times including yesterday, I have that as Fact!

sorry buddy

When push came to shove, harry didnt want Suarez. Fact. Where is the dilly dallying?
Harry moved on 5-6 days ago, I think as manager of the football club he has an opinion that deserves to be listened to right?

Whilst they may have paid double their initial bid, that bid was exstremly low, insulting i would say. they have it appears paid for, IMO about right.

Saurez led the line for Uruguay extremely well, I cannot except that "Spurs" felt he wasn't the one we needed, or worth getting, Sorry i just don't believe that

this....they identified the player and paid the fee required to get him

Regarding the latest ITK, it seems certain that something has gone very wrong.

Whether that version of events true or not, something is up with the way we find our targets and then go about getting them!

I can see Torres going now, but if he doesn't that will be a very good partnership indeed and I can really see them going on a run now. They have a decent side on paper.

Its more of a case if, if you got offered 70 million for Gareth Bale, would you take it?

Not sure they would say no to that kind of money!

Simple answer is no because he doesn't want to go and his value won't diminish so we don't need to.:)
Liverpool on the other hand aren't in that fortunate position, personally I think they've known for some time about Torres which is why they eventually paid up the £23mill for Suarez.
I wonder how long before Kenny walks out again?

Its seems most of you lot have scared a lot of ITK's from posting. Its like a ghost town round here at the moment. In windows gone by we would have had constant info at this stage of the window

Shame on you guys!

IIRC there has often been a lull in info toward the end of a TW, picking up again a day or two toward the end.

I cant see us getting any major striker now, as it would be too short notice for the selling team to find a replacement. We will probably take a scatter gun approach over the next couple of days and start bidding for any striker..lol

That goal.com article is flawed, it talks about Harry seeking a long term striker then goes on to say we are after Anelka who is in his 30's, Carroll is also 22 not 23, poorly researched article

A leaked bid for Carroll ...
Then a statement that Pav is staying ...

Are we closing on a striker and now at the point where we don't want someone (like the chavs or goons) to steal in at the last minute?

I just thought I'd throw a curve ball of positivity into the mix

Incredibly naive to think that a club like Spurs would have one target and one target only for a position. We aren't Chelsea or United, we can't unsettle players like they do by bidding. All of your info has anti Harry vibes.

... and my point was that 'Arry putting his arm around Carroll was no guarentee that it would "calm" him down. Like yoiu say it's as much to do with the player.

... As for Carroll, getting him away from the likes of Barton would be a start but can you take the Geordie out of the boy?

But he courted Forlan in the summer. So he hasnt dilly dallied there. He is a long term target. I have said for a long time that Harry wants Carroll. he hasnt changed that. By offering him Suarez an option c or d at best at the risk of not having enough to buy Carroll (when Harry beleives he can get the deal done) wasnt gonna solve anything was it?

Like I reiterate from last night, I can only defend what I know, and some things that have been posted are totally unfair
