I know we are all desperate for a shiny new striker, but there are two ways to look at this, 1) Our strikers are shit and if we don`t upgrade we`ve got no chance of CL next season, or, my preferred option 2) They collective total of goals scored so far this season by our strikers is shit, yet we are still right in the mix for top four, if defoe or pav can hit a purple patch (which they are both more than capable of) we have a great chance of repeating last seasons 4th spot.....

I know many are gutted that we didn`t get Suarez, but the reality is, if Harry genuinely does not believe in him then there is no point, yes Harry may be proven wrong, or, but I trust in Harry, he`s been amazing for us and deserves the benefit of the doubt on this one imo.....

SSN said DL spoke to Mike Ashley and wouldn't take no for an answer over Carroll

Gone/definitely not available:

Dzeko
Suarez
Rossi
Adabayor
Carroll
Forlan

Possibly still available:

Benzema :hump:
Vucinic :hump:
Kalinic :)
Fabiano :)
Cole :bang:

Would be fantastic to get Vucinic but has he actually been linked to us through either the press or ITK?

Knowing Harry he is probably lining up Joey Cole for the summer window.

Surely we`ve had some intimation at least from Carroll`s agent that he would infact want to come to Spurs? I undecided about him, but if he is Harry`s no1 target then get it done DL....

Jeez, hasn't the mood dropped since 'Euphoric Tuesday'? (so much better than Blue Monday!)
I'm a Spurs fan though, so that means I've not yet given up hope, no matter how slender a hope it is that I'm clinging to!

I hope that 'Arry isn't being overly cautious in the market as he sees his first chance at a big club, with a big budget, and could it well be his final chance given his age.

In the back of his mind, he doesn't want to be seen as the man who got to the top table, only to be unable to understand the over priced foreign menu and ended up ordering something he didn't understand and didn't like!
Part of him wants to stick with steak and chips.
It'll be the first time he'll have spent so much on one player and for 'Arry, there's quite a bit to lose. This isn't FM and I know that I'd be a bit twitchy about it all if I was him (unsure whether that pun was intended or not!).

Anyway, keep the faith and those fingers crossed, not pointing!
We're all Spurs and we're all in this together.
COYS.

Only problem is Pardew, the guy is a nuisance, I think Ashley would sell but Pardew and him play poker together and hang out at the same casino so I think that Pardew has too much influence over Ashley sadly

Except when we had a DoF and made our main summer signings in May/June (e.g. Berbatov and Modric).

It's definitely time to bring back a dedicated transfer expert and let Redknapp get on with coaching.

Agree again with you Dan.

Tbh I'm sure players like Berbatov, Modric, Bale, Assou-Ekotto and Gomes wouldn't have even been on Redknapp's radar. If he had got his way in the summer Joe Cole would have signed for us and VdV would be plying his trade elsewhere. It's frightening to think we are still after barely above average local talent like Scotty Parker and Phil Neville.

i think it's best for us all to just chill and accept the fact that we wont sign anyone....it will be less painful this way

Said we had bid 25m and that they spoke directly. I assume that cos there is no other headlines that it was rejected

We need Frank Arnesen back really tbh, go back to the DOF system, yes Frankie bought largely shit but he was doing a complete rebuilding job and had little money so had to bargain hunt, with lots of money at his disposal he would close some good deals

What if bringing in Neville and parker would mean an improved attitude within the squad, I'm not saying they are unprofessional but having two model pro's around the place can only help. Maybe even show the younger players the way forward ie bostock, parrett
