Doing the maths based on Trix's post, looks like Batman and Janssen could both be coming (as the two attackers). Fits well with the idea of getting young players with the right attitude and would give the strength in depth we need.
If we add Wanyama to this as well, we are covering for:
Ability to play 2 up front
Cover for Kane
Cover for Dier/Dembele
Ability to change formation/plan B in CL matches
Chance for squad rotation throughout season.

Sounds positive.
Now we need to get them signed up so they can "enjoy" MP's preseason training camp!

I don't see the point in 2 out and out strikers to back up Kane, seems a waste of talent.

I know I'm heading for a fall here, but I just don't get this "need another playmaker" that keeps cropping up. Eriksen, Lamela, Ali, Son, Njie and Pritchard are all young creative players, Dembele can also play there like he did at Fulham, and as for Benteleb, well its a cliche, but he could be like a new signing if he knuckles down and keeps fit. Unfortunately, Modric type players don't grow on trees, and deep lying playmakers are hard to find.

For me, cover for Dier and a couple of Strikers will cover the glaring holes in our squad, anything else would be a bonus. I would rather let Poch work with the promising youngsters we have for another year, we have a wealth of promising/proven midfield options.

I was thinking about this. This is only my idea but maybe Poch can play the same formation, but put Kane just behind say a batman. I don't mean a proper no 10, but with the way the front 4 switch around, you can have Kane, bats,Eriksen and Lamela up top, have Dier or maybe Wanyama deep, and Ali as central midfielder, Dembeles position. This wouldn't be done at say Man Utd away, but would have a much bigger goal threat and Ali and Dier in midfield. People will say don't take Kane out his best position, but the movement means, like he plays now, that the 4 of them will all do there job and switch around, and defend from the front too. Just an idea....

Agreed. Bats, Wanyama and Janssen pretty much plugs all of the holes in our squad, aside from the DLP position I'm not even sure Poch wants. After that it's lesser issues such as improving the GK and CB options.

Buying 2 STs also covers us better if one doesn't adapt well and or gets injured like N'Jie. The tricky thing will be man mangement but that is Poch's lookout.

We'd be in fantastic shape if we somehow nail these three incomings.

Very promising news - let's hope that we can get these done ASAP and then we can all relax and enjoy our summer!

If they adapt to the prem ok. That's why Wanyama a good buy. No worries at all. Can't say we are sorted till they play and we see how they fit in

Of course, IMHO Bats looks a sure thing to me. Janssen is a bit more risky but like I said if Levy shocks us and brings in both odds are at least one should fit the bill.

i've felt like JJ's whore the past couple of weeks but when I asked about the possibility of signing both Bat and Jan he informed that there was absolutely NO CHANCE

Batman and Vince? Now ya talking.

Ideally, wanted Bats and Lacazette, but I'll take the above. If we get both then we may well see poch vary his formations a little more, especially now that 4231 is properly engrained; if not then I wouldn't be surprised if we see bats used either side of the A3 on occasion.

Need this one to go through. Come on shinehead, wrap it up.

I feel we needed one out and out striker to understudy Kane, so someone who has similar strengths so we can swap players without changing styles, plus a wider pacy alternative option who can engage static defence's. All the suggestion are Janssen is very similar to Kane, so that could tick that box. Batshuayi, whilst being physically strong, also has some pace, and moves with the ball well. I wasn't aware that he plays/played as a WF, but it's possible. That could make the possibility of two Forwards being Batshuayi and Janssen likely.
Throw in Wanyama too, and that would be us suitably upgraded and better balanced as a squad in my opinion.
Trix's info regarding two forwards, plus Greyfox's info suggesting two by the end of the week, could be a nice early summer for us. Widely alluded to in the media that OM need to get cash soon, also JJ's ITK that Batshuayi was still No1 target and Janssen had been in discussions with us, and Yakster suggesting Wanyama is on his way.
Is it too much to hope all 3 get done this soon???

Edit : Ok, now just seen JJ's comments about no chance of both Janssen and Batshuayi. Anyone want to piss on these chips for me???

Ok so with the new JJ info what appears to be happening is that Bats is our number 1 target and fingers crossed we will get him - Janssen is our back-up plan and is ready to come to us if there is a problem with Bats coming - plus it adds pressure to OM by gently reminding them that we have other options.

Sounds fair enough to me.

It's pretty obvious that we started sniffing around Janssen to force Marseille to lower their price of we think they are desperate.
