Hi, I've been lurking here for a few weeks.

I guess I find the ITK stuff pretty entertaining and so. I don't know if it is because of Paratici being new and the sources have dried out, or if the ITK stuff is just made up, but as far as I recall, the ITKs haven't been first on a rumour or called one single recruitment this summer. And the latest ITK says that Levy has pulled the plug on more players in. When nothing else has been true, can we really trust this particular post, or is it as much made up guesswork as all other ITK posts have been all summer?

Is there some kind of follow up on ITK, are some more reliable than others?

I am suprised we are not pushing for a centre mid, we didn’t want to loan back Sarr and then tried to sign Moriba which fell through. So we clearly feel we are one short in that area
Moriba
Traore
Vlahovic (Kane may have effected this)
Aouar
Torres/Kounde (ok Sanchez's form probably effected that)

But the fact we were supposedly very keen on these players, tells you that we felt we were short in a number of areas.

Would I have been annoyed had we brought in Traore but not Moriba or Aouar, no because I guess Ndombele is an issue. Nor would I have been annoyed had we brought in Aouar but no attacking player. Can't expect a perfect window.

But it's clear that FP/SH/NES felt we could get more done, yet here we are again with gaps that leave us short of reaching objectives and having to compete with clubs who have better midfield's and options than we do.

13 premier league goals between all 3 with Bale contributing 11. I know 31 sounds more impressive - but realistically the conference league should be used imo for players like scarlett etc to try and get games.
Regardless, Bale had a major impact in the league during the second half of the season. We wouldn't even be in the Conference League had it not been for his heroics on the final day. Our attack is clearly worse both in terms of depth and in terms of quality as compared to last season.

I agree Bale is a loss with his goals and hasn't been replaced. However I don't think Vini or Lamelas goals within premier league will be missed, in fact I'd be surprised if Gill doesn't score more than them combined.

The ITK was that Levy believes we are creating enough chances and that he is not willing to sanction Bergwijn leaving the club in order to generate funds for another attacker. In other words, he's exercising football judgment over and above the judgment of people who the club employ to make football decisions.

Ah, thx. I must had missed that one and I can see why the increased DL aggro.

For me, I don't take each quote so literally, Chinese whispers, were they actually in the room, bias, etc.

My thought would be that I agree that DL would be a newb of the newest proportions IF he knew nothing about coding and overule a team of top coders that he hired due to his hunch of making the code run faster.

However, imo Spurs has been run quite intelligently at least in terms of business and even footballing performance in relationship to our current financial position. Therefore I have a hard time believing that the full story is Levy rejecting the deal because he thinks we create enough chances. Just seems a bit thick to me and simple.

Why is every Spurs journalist caveating the we’re done tweets with the “barring a late development”? Seems weird to me. Almost like the club is preparing for a possible wild one

Probably incase a 1 in 1,000,000 chance like VDV happens again. Can't see it happening again though.

The biggest worry for me and everyone I think today was that Levy was intervening on football issues, by refusing to sanction the departure of Berg. That is seriously concerning. Is Berg another one who Levy seems to rate for some unknown reasons? I think most football people are the club harbour concerns that he won't make it here.

The little bald clown, as we all knew, would never be able to relinquish control completely. It's only taken a matter of weeks, and the first sign of when push comes to shove, and he steps in and exercises his control. I suspect Paratici won't last long here, just like all the other DOFS.

How Paratici can be MD of Football but Levy overrules him on football matters is just so depressing.

To keep people watching / to save themselves from looking like idiots of Levy pulls a rabbit out of a hat.

A bit harsh. All the ITK posters can do is share what they have heard or been told. Unfortunately things are subject to change regularly such as Levy getting involved to save money after assuring the fans he won't be involved this year. Sometimes the things posted pan out and other times not. Usually more reliable than the rumors though.
