Group hug! Anyway, a lot of pundits are saying we did the best business during the window. For those of us who have been following the rumors and news all summer, it falls a bit short due to us missing out on Moutinho. Losing Rafa, Modric, and King didn't help either. But we've got some great signings in Vertonghen, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Lloris (OMG!), and Dempsey. Plus we have Adebayor back! People go on about signing world class players but if the team can gel and find its feet we should be okay! I don't know, we're playing differently than we did last year and who knows how this is going to pan out. I'm just going to enjoy it. :)

I have a lot of time for Mr Levy, but the complications of such a deal should not have come as a surprise. You plan for these things and you allow extra time to get the deal done exactly because there is more that can go wrong to delay it. Whatever we know or don't know, Levy is not blameless because the deal wasn't done. And I'm left wondering whether we are a better team than last year, which should be the measure of success.

After feeling disappointed last night I have woke up today feeling relieved that it's all over! Granted its not the elation I would have felt had Moutinho signed but we still have a decent squad. I personally think that the gap between the top 3 and whoever finishes 4th will be pretty big and I would imagine that Everton are feeling pretty good right about now. Just looking forward to the game against Norwich now.

I'll definitely be staying around but it's fair to say I won't be as naive next window when the 'ITK' starts flying. I've learnt from my short time as a voyeur on SC who's ITK you can look at and think 'maybe' to those who's ITK you can just ignore. I joined when adiepf was throwing percentages round like sweets on a playground and you'd think I'd have learnt there and then, but I didn't. I won't comment on the 4 minutes debacle because the wound is too fresh.

I get paid on Monday and I'll throw a few bob in to the fund because without a doubt, this is the best Spurs Community (see what I did there ?) I've been happy to be part of.

For the record I'm not Harry Kane's brother/dad/uncle/sister. Just a namesake.

Gutted, really gutted no mouts - never know the full reasons why. Maybe we can start negotiating now for January window!? Seriously. Feel for AVB.
Dempsey may really thrive with decent players round him - done pretty well in the prem within an average side. Well done SC for superb coverage & more throughout. Donations will be forthcoming. COYS

Isn't the window for loans still open? If so, then a season-long loan with option to buy?

Surely a Transfer Window where you bring in six first teamers that can all play the system the Head Coach wants to play is a good window. Lloris, Sigurdsson, Vertonghen, Adebayor, Dembele, Dempsey is a very good window IMO.

I don't believe the whole moutinho thing tbh. Seems a bit fishy. No deal agreed in the first place. Saying that I do think he's a tad overrated on here and definitely overpriced if we are talking roughly 24mil. We could of done with a player to tick things over, take it off the centre halves etc if we play a 4-3-3, however Dembele was a cracking signing and can do that if hes played in there with sandro, hes brilliant technically and he can also drive the ball forword and the two of them are really powerful and can break up play superbly.

It's further forward where we messed up I believe. Im not that convinced sigudson is cute enough to play in there behind Adebayor if weve got lennon or Dempsey playing from the right. Someone like Isco, Willian, Affelly, dzgoev(sp) was needed for a bit of craft as an option.

Dempsey Im happy with. got the heart of a lion, works so hard, very good in the air which might come in handy when he comes in at the back stick when the balls on the left. Got a good cross on him too and can play at a push the ade role.

If both parties want it to go through, then cancel his porto contract and sign him as a Bosman. Make other arrangements for the payments.

I thought I'd be calmer this morning. But I'm actually more angry. Heads should roll for the Moutinho clusterfuck.

EPIC FAIL.

By the sounds of it JM was owned by a number of parties, not just Porto. We may have had all Summer but weare a business and if it took until the last minute to get all parties to agree, then so be it...if it was four minutes late I have no doubt it wasn't for the lack of trying. I see a lot of criticism of DL here but nobody here really knows.
The criticism you are seeing is well and truly deserved we have been left weaker in every area bar the goalkeeper.
To be left shorn of creativity in midfield is ridiculous but to leave ourselves with two strikers is pathetic but at least Levy has some more money in his pocket and he did try for the last couple of hours to get things done when he had all fucking summer bless.

I wonder is having 2 strikers down to the manager because he has not got clue what is needed for the premier league and does not want to have to make a decision on which striker to pick considering the decision between Ade and Defoe picks its self.

Cheers Levy once again you have destroyed are chances of mounting a proper league challenge.

I think if we get anywhere near the top seven it will be a miracle.

In some respects it has been a good window, some very good players bought, and the squad has a better balance to it but i really wish Levy had properly backed Andre with 1 of his choice of players..
I am again left wondering if we had gone that step further with Liverpool and Arsenal looking under strength we could have nailed 4th place.

DL has let AVB down. Letting VDV go without securing Moutinho prior to is amateur. We have also let Kane go so have two true CF. The squad, which was widely recognised as up there with United and City 18 month ago, is now exceptionally light. Crouch, Pav, Defeo and Keane for instance gave us options. We don't have this now. We recouped over 60m and spent 30m. Top 4 was already a tall order given out underwhelming start and this activity cements that as a pipedream. We need to wake up and smell the coffee; Levy's brinkmanship has worked once with VDV and cost us multiple times - Adams (bullet dodged on reflection!) and Moutinho. His style also infuriates other successful businessmen so maybe isn't as successful as he/we think. I am exceptionally disallusioned. If this was our squad transformation I would have preferred to stick with Harry! (joke!)

Dempsey can play up top, so it's JD, Ade & Dempsey for one place.
