I'll definitely be staying around but it's fair to say I won't be as naive next window when the 'ITK' starts flying. I've learnt from my short time as a voyeur on SC who's ITK you can look at and think 'maybe' to those who's ITK you can just ignore. I joined when adiepf was throwing percentages round like sweets on a playground and you'd think I'd have learnt there and then, but I didn't. I won't comment on the 4 minutes debacle because the wound is too fresh.

I get paid on Monday and I'll throw a few bob in to the fund because without a doubt, this is the best Spurs Community (see what I did there ?) I've been happy to be part of.

For the record I'm not Harry Kane's brother/dad/uncle/sister. Just a namesake.

You won't learn Ian Kane, no one ever learns. We think we have, we think we are somehow stronger for the experience but in reality we are still babies crying for the teat of ITK to satisfy us. See you in January!

I actually don't think it is that bad, the fact we have let Kane go on loan shows that they see Dempsey as a forward. We are only lacking one player in central midfield, if we can bring one in in January then our squad is looking excellent.

Plus JJ is the number 1 ITK full stop! Excellent!

Another very weird window, was it really worth writing off 5 points and a pre season to get these players at this price? I'm amazed we let rafa VdV go as well as modric (which was inevitable)?

i am not sure why there is so much gloom and doom that we did not sign Moutinho. i can't think of any clubs having clammered for his signature during the transfer window. was he really all that? would he have taken us to the next level? i pose this question not because we missed out on him but because he is 25 and still in Portugal. Is Nuri Sahin not a greater miss???

i cannot bring myself to be devastated by something i never had. i think a player like Dembele will take us forward, gylfi will improve, Dempsey will add goals, is quicker than our beloved VDV. so there is an improvement in our options. oh i forgot the new Keeper too who will make a difference.

I wrote the following yesterday evening. Wish I had been wrong... how I wish. But I stand by every word. Will still donate, though, because I thought Rob and the gang were superb in keeping this site afloat through all the mayhem. But the following still reflects my feelings:
"There's only one kind of brinkmanship, and that's the kind that succeeds. If it doesn't succeed, it has many names. "Fuck-up" being one of them. The next 3 hours or so will determine our season. Will determine whether Levy is a master of brinkmanship or whether he's overseen our biggest transfer window fuck-up since he took over. And that includes the Berbatoss/Frasier Campbell fiasco. If he willingly sells Modric and VdV without guaranteeing 100% (that's 100%, not 99.9% "but the goalposts moved"), then he will have lost all my faith, and probably AVB's too. I will willingly donate a 3-figure sum (and I don't mean £4.75) to SC if he pulls off Lloris, Moutinho and Llorente."

I'll have a stab at it.............Mountinho is not going to Tottenham, Levy didn't try until 4 minutes before the window closed ;)
Portuguese journo who I got it off said the transfer went through 4 mins too late, that begs question why didnt we get a extension like the Kane transfer

Mouthinho is an excellent player, of course people are gutted we didn't sign him . To re iterate we have just sold Luka Modric and Rafa VdV two world class players who were key to our success.

We didn't get Lloriss for some bargain price either, waiting until 2 games into the season for this business seems misguided to put it politely.

Delighted with Lloris and Dembele. Same goes for Ade but he was here last term.

Vertonghen should do well once settled. Dempsey should be ok too.

I don't rate Sigurdsson. Think we will be trying to offload him within 18 months.

I think our team is weaker but that's says more about how special Modric and VDV are.

Overall I'm underwhelmed to be honest but will get behind anyone who pulls on our shirt to play for us.
We are restricted by the stadium and our approach of making a profit on our dealings won't see us back in the CL anytime soon. The scum do it but they have chosen to do it after becoming a regular CL side.

Top 6 will be a good season

Did we really have a choice with Van Der Vaart? He might not have thrown a strop and threatened to go on strike, but he wanted to join his wife and family in Germany. Levy probably had a gentleman's agreement with VDV that he could go if our valuation was met.

I also just realised we still have Hudds :) but also Jenas :censored: can't believe Levy extended his contract, well i can, but would it have made more sense to get his wages off of the books? any thoughts on GKs? maybe Cudicini to get released?

Dempsey can play up top, so it's JD, Ade & Dempsey for one place.

Can play up front is a whole different proposition to being a recognised CF who will lead the line in Ade absence (ie injury or rest). We have no alternative options.

For those who are 'gutted' we didn't get Moutinho in, how many have actually seen him play outside the Euros? Not many I'd wager. Modric was always going to be very difficult to replace and let's remember that it was Levy who kept him here as long as he was. Not many other chairmen would've been able to bend Modric to his will. We got a good price for him which allowed us to make some quality signings. Maybe Moutinho would've been amazing, maybe not, but for those who are saying 'Levy out', I say get some fucking perspective!

Liverpool paid a £5 million loan fee, something Arsenal were not prepared to do. It's one of the reasons for the anger with Liverpool fans - that there was only a £1 million fee for Carrol and they didn't have the cash for Dempsey.

FC Porto: #Moutinho and #Tottenham failed the deal for... four minutes. #Spurs were about to pay more than €30M. #THFChttp://migre.me/awLOS

So I dont know if this means we were four minutes too late or we tried to do it with four minutes to go but a new person on twitter said Levy was at the lodge until 4am

Sky showed him leaving at 1.30am..it just felt like 4am.

Lets move on now, we have signed 6 really top players and have an important game to win today..COYS!

The BBC are saying that Lloris cost an initial £7.8M. That's a great deal a keeper like him. Apparently Lyon will get 20% of any profit we make on him and the fee could go up as high as £11.8M, but it seems those parts are related to how successful we are so not really a concern.
