I just had sneaky feeling someone might suggest that AVB wouldn't want Ade.

Hopefully that means he does want some of his "old guard" behind him.

Does anyone know if the Sig info from that Ginger(-something) lad was confirmed by the mods?

For those who didn't see it, Ginger said he was Icelandic and that the Sig was not yet confirmed due to Hoffenheim faffing about or something along those lines.

'Twas some very good info.

IMO this is all about AVB's experience at Chelsea with older players, lets be honest Ade has a track record of falling out with managers and I believe AVB didn't want to take the risk. One thing Harry was good at was managing players egos and did a good job with Adebayor

I suspect we'll see a younger striker coming in, maybe Portuguese.

If AVB is going to be successful he will need 'his' players around him

but he also needs players who'll work in this league. ade has a great record and was extremely important to us last season. i just hope avb doesn't change everything to fit into his system but also builds on what's already good here.

first post here btw :)

I for one would be sad to not see Ade back, he seemed quite a positive character and happy at the club.

Now AVB is all done & dusted let's hope for more positive ITK and get some quality signings completed starting with vertonghan who IMO will be top quality and I think AVB will possibly make him skipper

It's a very big decision not to go for Adebayor as he's available relatively cheap (in terms of a transfer fee), knows the club and has one successful season already under his belt at the club. Wages were obviously an issue but it doesn't sound like that's what's putting us off.

I can only hope that AVB has someone else in mind to play that lead striker role. Ade was an excellent target man for us and personally I think we need a similar style of player. Not sure what AVB has in mind though in terms of how we line up upfront.

Thanks for that (and welcome to SC, BTW).

Some people appear to be placing a great deal of credence on this solitary piece of ITK. I'll take a rain check.

Morning all, would be sad not to see ade back, he brings quality and as rafa has said he was a good character around the dressing room, but avb is our manager ;) so if he feels he wants a different forward then so be it, that postion is one of the most important in the team so let avb get his own choice in, maybe he feels ade won't fit into his shape and style of play he wants. hoping for sig today I just hope it don't mean bad news for vdv I know people have said it don't but soooo don't want vdv to leave, he's like our tailsman now, on a quick sidenote wonder who avb will make captain,

Who knows what strikers AVB would want. Maybe someone from the Portuguese leagues based on his dealings at Chelsea. Oscar Cordoza maybe? Ironically this year is probably the only year in the last 5 we haven't been linked to him!

I've never really heard of Ali Z as an ITK, and reading that AVB has already made a negative decision on Adebayor says to me that he will be proved wrong. As Adebyor is clearly a player we need to add to the squad, whether he remains first choice or not is a completely different argument but I can't see a progressive thinking manager like AVB not wanting him.

I'm not sure who we could get that is better than Adebayor either.

The talk of Falcao and Higuain is complete rubbish, I think. Akqayid has mentioned a "storm" and hinted at Higuain on the unmentionable social media website.

I don't buy it. But I will be intrigued to see who we do get to fit into AVB's style of play.

Strangely, I will miss Adebayor if we don't buy him. I didn't expect to, but I really liked him last season.

The best thing about this transfer window is with AVB in charge we can all relax in the knowledge we won't be linked with the likes of Yakubu. That alone will make this the best transfer window in recent history!

Over on COYS, FTL, SO or any other websites from which we receive ITK - do the mods confirm the ITK sources before they are allowed to post info as ITK?

We are WORKING on someone BIG from RM.
Lloris is one of the keepers we have looked at.
PSG and RM wants Modric.
QPR/So'ton/WHam wants some of our players.

In relation to the Ade info, I was once told that we were going to get rid of Huddlestone, it didnt happen. Not everything turns out the way it was told.
