Whether we get him or not, Adebayor is still on and probably wants daft wages. Maybe City are holding out for a fee too, after all he showed his worth last year. All we've heard from Ade is that he wants to get it sorted, but that's a long way from saying 'i'll take half wages.' I like him as a player but if he gets a better offer i'd not be surprised to see him move on, and if it's a case of affording 2 players for the same money we'd be paying him, it might well be the right decision.
For all that, let's get moving on some strikers! I'm reluctant to imagine Defoe is at the forefront of AVB's plans but maybe that kind of one dimensional finisher is what he wants up top. Intriguing times.

Edit: or maybe we're trying to blag some world stars: Higuain! Go on then...

We are WORKING on someone BIG from RM.
Lloris is one of the keepers we have looked at.
PSG and RM wants Modric.
QPR/So'ton/WHam wants some of our players.

Think gallas leaving would be good news if verts is done. Settled back 4 is what we need.
JD? Can't imagine him in anything but a 4-4-2 and hopefully those days are long gone.

I know mate...deals don't always work out!
But if you check afterwards, there was contacts.
Making contact and being interested in a player doesn't guarantee that the player will come - could be long process and even unsuccessful.
So, here's hoping mate...

I don't see why Higuain would sign for us, he'd have the pick of clubs to move to, should he want to move...

But anyway, Verts by XXXXXX we've heard it so many times. I'll believe it now when it's on the OS. People pretending to be ITK are just guessing now to win some brownie points (not you, obviously!)

Fringe player for me, could always do a job in HR's team, can't see how he'll fit in if AVB is going to move well away from the previous managers tactics.

Got to get upgrades in before we lose the one experienced striker on our books though.

i guess AVB doesn't feel ade is the type of forward for his style of play rather than any reflection on his ability.

Tend to agree as long as AVB does not think Sturridge is the type to lead the new revolution.

I'm sure they do, and COYS have a badge system. Ultimately, though, it's a matter of trust.

Acie we have tried multipletimes for Higuain and he has laughed it off each time. His Dad openly shot us down literlaly a month or so ago so i really hopeyou dont think its him as its just not happening.

I think we have identified that this is an area that needs attention - Saha, Defoe and as reported/itk by others Ade.
So probably 2 new strikers...

Look at Ade's age

I can see why he may not fit our policy, especially given his wages.

I liked Ade, though happy if we were to get a proper upgrade on him....

I do worry though that axing/not signing Adebayor would have a similar impact on morale as it did when AVB alienated Anelka. VDV has already stated how big a character he is.
