I doubt it's AVB that has made the decision not to retain Adebayor. A more likely explanation is that Levy doesn't want to pay his wages.

I agree. In my opinion, Adebayor fits in very well with AVB´s philosophy of applying pressure high up the pitch to retain the ball quicker.

My fear with AVB is he may want to have ALL his players in one go and upset regulars/first teamers...exactly what happened at CFC.

Other than VdV or Bale, or maybe one or two others, who are we worried about upsetting?
We are not Chelsea... players don't fit? They can leave... Let's face it AVB might might upset a Defoe or a Dawson, but he's not going to be upsetting the likes of Bale, Sandro, Kaboul... all players i expect him to be building the team around, Modric too if he can convince him to reconsider (which i doubt).

Our best players are young enough that i don't have an issue here.

As for Adebayour... well, would have him, but the wages were always an issue and I am not sure he is an AVB player... he wanted Drogba out of the team at Chelsea and I can see that being the same thing here.

Higuain? Feck me... I added him to my team on FM sometime last year and he single handedly won me the league. I'm not saying in real life that would happen, but this guy IS class (and no no, not just because FM says so lol, seen him play), he would be our Aguero for sure. BUT the reality here is I just don't see it.... Having said that it will be very interesting to see what kind of pull AVB has on players and whether his prior relationship with Mourinho is a help or hindrance in this factor (at least with enticing RM players to join us)?!

All i can say in regards to RM is players
Whether one or two does the deal or none, then we have tried but didn't succeed.

Funnily enough I have been thinking about whether Adebayor fits in with AVBs team. He's a talent no doubt but does he work hard enough?

I'm not sure on the track record of Ali Z but it wouldn't surprise me if AVB has a hard working centre forward in mind. Someone who will press better high up the pitch and score more goals.

The next Eto'o would be the perfect type of striker if there is one. Lets hope AVB knows someone who wont cost a bomb in transfer fee or wages.

It would be good to see Ade back, for his enthusiasm, workrate and his pressurising the defenders when we have lost the ball. However, if we want to progress we do need a striker that is more clinical on the ball. For me Ade missed too many sitters and that is the difference that we have to make up. Hopefully, AVD has one or two in mind from Portugal that have yet to make a big name for themselves.

I doubt that any such decision has been made, especially as we've had contrary information from people with track records. I'm sure Levy doesn't want to pay his crazy wages, but I don't suppose any other chairman does either.

Not too sure how happy I am about the ITK that said either Sigurdsson or Oscar. Being greedy I'd want both but if a choice it would be Oscar. I don't think Sig will be a superstar but Oscar looks like the nuts. I saw it something like this:
Krancjar - Sig
Modric - Moutinho
Pienaar/Bentley/Jenas - Oscar + a wide man.

Ade works extremely hard for the team. Something I was quite surprised with... Would be a shame if AVB didn't fancy him IMO.

Thanks for that (and welcome to SC, BTW).

Some people appear to be placing a great deal of credence on this solitary piece of ITK. I'll take a rain check.

I feel the same. But purely as I think we would of heard by now from Adebayor or his agent that he was available.
