I doubt it's AVB that has made the decision not to retain Adebayor. A more likely explanation is that Levy doesn't want to pay his wages.
Over on COYS, FTL, SO or any other websites from which we receive ITK - do the mods confirm the ITK sources before they are allowed to post info as ITK?
I agree. In my opinion, Adebayor fits in very well with AVB´s philosophy of applying pressure high up the pitch to retain the ball quicker.I doubt it's AVB that has made the decision not to retain Adebayor. A more likely explanation is that Levy doesn't want to pay his wages.
My fear with AVB is he may want to have ALL his players in one go and upset regulars/first teamers...exactly what happened at CFC.
;-)Other than VdV or Bale, or maybe one or two others, who are we worried about upsetting?
We are not Chelsea... players don't fit? They can leave... Let's face it AVB might might upset a Defoe or a Dawson, but he's not going to be upsetting the likes of Bale, Sandro, Kaboul... all players i expect him to be building the team around, Modric too if he can convince him to reconsider (which i doubt).
Our best players are young enough that i don't have an issue here.
As for Adebayour... well, would have him, but the wages were always an issue and I am not sure he is an AVB player... he wanted Drogba out of the team at Chelsea and I can see that being the same thing here.
Higuain? Feck me... I added him to my team on FM sometime last year and he single handedly won me the league. I'm not saying in real life that would happen, but this guy IS class (and no no, not just because FM says so lol, seen him play), he would be our Aguero for sure. BUT the reality here is I just don't see it.... Having said that it will be very interesting to see what kind of pull AVB has on players and whether his prior relationship with Mourinho is a help or hindrance in this factor (at least with enticing RM players to join us)?!
R.
More than one from Real? It shows ambition. I like that!;-)
All i can say in regards to RM is players
Whether one or two does the deal or none, then we have tried but didn't succeed.

AVB is proud, arrogant and moaner BUT YES HE IS VERY AMBITIOUS.More than one from Real? It shows ambition. I like that!

What other strikers are out there that are good enough for us yet affordable?
I agree! We can all dream about a world class striker - but in 99% of the cases we either cannot afford the fee or the player demands ridiculous wages. But, we can hope - can´t we?
Huntelaar
Lethal from close range plus there was ITK that he would be open to a move
What about Angel di Maria from RM? He'd fit the formation and could be available?
Thanks for that (and welcome to SC, BTW).
Some people appear to be placing a great deal of credence on this solitary piece of ITK. I'll take a rain check.
