Sounds convenient for Daniel, being able to blame the agent. Levy can't sell a player who wants to stay, but now his has an out.

I expect this to drag on, with RM not coughing up. Levy needs to think about the footballing side and set a deadline for meeting our valuation.

I was confident Bale would stay, until I realised who his agent was. Now I'm not sure.

I think that we need some concrete positive news today Mr Levy. Please get us our Soldier to keep us from topping ourselves soon.

Just think of all the lost merchandising that we would have bought in the future that you'll miss out on due to us only having negative news. This may bridge any gap in finances from agent's fees etc that may be the last sticking point for Soldado.

Obviously bale would be interested in joining Real Madrid. What pro player wouldn't???

Lets say Bale doesnt sign another contract. He still has 3 years remaining on his current contract. This is no different to the Modric situation. In the end we kept him one more season. Therefore DL simply has to say
"Gareth we won't be selling you this season. You're under contract and we will discuss this again next summer. Now go and help us qualify for CL".

They were always going to come in for Bale.

Anyone that doubted that is just burying their head in the sand. RM is an incredibly political club. The fans want Bale. Dont underestimate how much sway that holds. Perez and Zidane then openly court him and the fans feel happy and loved.
They then have to be seen to follow it up. They use Marca as a propoganda machine and leak selected bits to the attention hungry British press who only really care (not the journos fault really) about web hits and number of sold copies.
It's all pretty transparent really.
They'll make a bid, because they said they would and they've told the press they will to try and unsettle Bale beforehand. But, and this is just a guess, I don't think they'll get close to the figures quoted. Deliberately. It might be 85 mill but a Levy style 85 mill. Ie payable in the next 20 years etc. They'll know Levy will reject and they can then, publically, announce that they tried. Levy will be villified by Marca and portrayed as a pantomime villain / career ruiner by the Brit press. Zidane and Perez will win vote of confidence for another season and we'll carry on, with Bale.

Ok so the above may be part creative, wishful thinking and part cold hard facts but I reckon it's about right. One thing is for sure, as long as I've got a hole in my arse this speculation isn't going away anytime soon.

At the end of the day if we get 100m I'm not going to be too upset about it. Whether that's 85m plus a player or 100m in cash is up for negotiation but for me that has to be the minimum that Levy will accept.

It is starting to sound now like he'll be off which is gutting as it had previously looked like he would stay, but if we can spend that money on really strengthening the squad then I think we'll be okay.

If Bale's head has been turned by Madrid then more fool him to be honest.

'U can't keep an unhappy player' - of course you bloody well can!
We pay millions of pounds to bring these prima donnas to the club, taking a massive risk that they will be crap or can't be arsed (think Bentley), pay them even more millions of pounds a year and THEN we are the ones in the wrong for expecting them to do their job for one more year and let them break their contract early!!!!

I'm furious....Daniel Levy must be close to strangling the guy!

If Bale stays, this team can win the title with just the Soldado signing. Our first 11 would be the best we've had in the history of the EPL era. Pure quality all over the pitch.

To sell Bale would set us back massively. The only way I'd be remotely okay with it is if we pulled out the impossible and convinced Coentrao and Di Maria to join us in a player swap, and took a chunk of the additional cash Madrid gave us up front (an absolute must) and bought Lamela immediately. Other than that, there is no scenario in which I would be remotely accepting of Bale going.

Frankly, I'm quite worried about us getting off to a slow start. We don't know the status of Sandro and Kaboul, Vertonghen is hurt, and AVB has shown he has no problem keeping newer players on the bench, so I dread a scenario where our best players aren't all on the pitch together until October.

There is seemingly a medical set for today around 2-3pm now this does not necessarily mean soldado it could be for the visibly unfit dembele.

im at work so I cannot go check it out sadly.

Im also not verified yet through my own doing, so take it with a pinch of salt of course.

Injured unfit or fatty fatty tub tubs unfit? :)

...and you know this, how? From a load of fabrictaed reports in Marca and our Press?

And you know he's staying how? From a bunch of strangers on an Internet forum putting their fingers in their ears and sorting lalalalalalala.
Even the itk's are leaning towards the inevitable.
madrid's dirty tactics have won again.

Is it clutching at straws to think Bale might want to be the main man at Spurs and in the PL rather than in Ronaldo's shadow. Madrid fans don't seem all that keen.

Atlanta yid on COYS.

I was informed today that DL is a little (mild understatement) angry at Bales agent He is now under the impression that a world record bid will be made. As of now no formal bid has been made but it doesn't look good for the yid army. The Spurs head brass thought and were lead to believe that Gareth would stay one more year I have until today thought that he would sign the new deal offered and stay one more year but my optimism has run out Same old Spurs my love and frustration runs deeper than relationship I have

A lot of opinion in this post. I've highlighted the more factual content to make it easier.

The rest is hardly relevant at all.

I don't know that he is. I am hoping, like most poeple on here, but you seem to say it so matter of fact like you know. When you can't know. It's all a guessing game.

If it has to happen then there's nothing we can do about it. The thing that really bothers me though is the fact that Madrid have no money. I really don't like the idea that year in year out they can cherry pick from the best players whilst leaving their clubs dangling for the money.

Gonna stay optimistic though. I think he's staying!

If we are certain that Bale is leaving then I hope Baldini is going all out for Bernard. Even if Bale stays for an extra season we need a player who can be ready to step up as our next catalyst.
