Is Freund really a "fan favourite"? I always thought it was kind of in an ironic way.

Just to add to others comments, he would always come over to the fans at the end of away games to applaud our support.
I always remember when he was suspended he sat in the north stand with the fans and even sat in the crowd with his son when visiting the Lane after he left.

im sure he's english wasn't that good to understand harry and also harry is a manager who only like's the first 11 and the rest of the squad he doesn't really care about them and since we got brad u can tell he really doesn't care about gomes and gives him no confidence

Gomes had his chance! He f**ked it up on numourous occasions. Not speaking the same language has nothing to do with some of the unbelievably Rash decisions he has made. The guy is a ricket waiting to happen. No point making 5 or 6 unbelievable saves then throwing the ball into your own net.

If we want to be successful at all there is no way we should even be contemplating giving Gomes another chance, we need to pull out all the stops and sign Lloris.

Please lets not return to rabbit in the headlight defending because we dont trust our keeper.

I remember him being one of the players that would sign autographs before the game. Always seemed to love it and appreciate the fans and the support. And any player that goes to games after he's played for the club is always going to be a favourite!

Freund is a brilliant addition imo. If you dont buy into the sentimental values of him beeing a former player and a big fan, he also have done wonders for the younger generations of german footballers. Solid choice all around!

Have not been this optimistic about Spurs for as long as i can remember. Good news everyday, and love the direction we are heading!

Yes! I was there that day.

I was going to mention that the other day when we were linked with him, but I didn't want to say anything that could call into question his bravery. He was only running away because he didn't want to go to jail for the murder of Roy keane. ahem.

I remember the last game of his final season - he even gave his shorts to one of the fans in the wheelchair area and walked off in his underwear waving to everyone. In the days when they let kids wait near the door from the changing rooms to the players lounge, my daughter and godson both got autographs from him - he chatted to them and was an absolute gent and a delightful bloke

Latest from Galahad on COYS re Adebayor

Galahad hears that we're paying the approximately 150kpw in wages and thereby breaking/smashing our wage structure, which DL is using as a reason to keep the fee as low as possible. Some might conclude that increasing our wage ceiling by so much points to impending outside investment. Some might conclude that DL playing hardball over a couple of million points in the opposite

Who cares about Freund as a player? His playing days are over. What matters is how he takes to coaching and judging by his appointment he must have impressed with the young Germans.

Not many of the great managers/coaches were actually great footballers and vice versa. Pep is one of the few I can think of. I'm very interested in seeing how Freund does as a number 2 for us.

Re the JJ stuff about Lloris, it's a shame that it sounds like it's still a little way off yet. I would love to get him in for the pre-season games. Maybe things will move quickly though so who knows.
