We definitely need 1 more minimum or I think it has been a very poor window.

Can we confidently say we are better team with the 2 Juve lads while getting rid of Ali, NDombele, Lo Celso and Gil?

Let alone getting into squad depth.

We just don’t know do we. If we are left short at any point in the remainder of the season then it’s a reasonable stick to beat them with that they didn’t (at the moment) bring anyone else in. But 21 players could be enough if Conte feels he can rely on them. Let see.

It’s a weirdly conflicting day…

I’m delighted we’ve signed Kulesevic, I think he’s an exciting prospect - more so thank Isak. And it’s good to add some more midfield steel.
But it’s weird watching our two record signings leave on loans and to see Dele and Bryan Gil out the door. Dele’s a weird one because no matter how bad it got, I kept thinking he’d somehow come back,
But with four first team squad out the door it feels like we’ve left ourselves short - but my brain keeps saying hold on, Gio didn’t feature, Ndombele didn’t feature, Gil barely made a few mins of sub appearances, and Dele did feature but failed and slipped out of contention, so really the squad may be stronger if we have two alternatives who actually play…
But part of me thinks Markanday must look at the thinning midfield and think, man, if I’d stayed… (okay that’s ignoring his horrific injury, but you know what I mean…) there’s some bench slots there to be grabbed by U23s.

Show me the striker, LCB & RWB that sold that we could have gotten.
Just because no one els bought them doesn’t mean they weren’t available? You do understand that right? If we had €60mil for Diaz and missed out why not put a big portion of that on a rwb we are desperate for ?

And so it begins

The cynic in me reckons that Mr Gold - god love him - is after some clicks all the way to 11pm.
He's right though. I'm not just trying to push out any optimism, but things can and do happen very quickly on deadline day. Just because we aren't actively pushing for anyone it doesn't mean something won't get offered late, or a deal we thought couldn't happen all of a sudden the selling club changes their minds/terms in order to bring someone else in.

Never say never but it's unlikely after this afternoon.

Looking around the PL, this is what happened in regards to major signings.

Everton - Mykolenko, Patterson, Alli, El Ghazi
Villa - Coutinho (loan), Digne, Chambers, Olsen
Newcastle - Guimaraes, Targett, Wood, Trippier
City - Alvarez
Liverpool - Diaz
Burnley - Weghorst

Only Everton, Newcastle and Villa have brought in more and I would hardly say they've brought in top well-sought after players. Newcastle because they have money and need to stay in the PL.

Everton have mostly signed unwanted players and two very easily obtainable but risky signings.

We forced Liverpool into signing their priority player now rather than the summer.

Otherwise, hardly any big or quality signings have happened.
Yeah in your face Liverpool!

For me whether this window is a success boils down to us getting/not getting top 4. Get it and it’s been a brilliant window, we’ve cleared out a lot of deadwood. Don’t get it and it’s another golden opportunity to kick on that we’ve missed.

Can I borrow your Playstation 5 for 6 months?
I've already agreed to sell
But will you lend me it instead?
