Yeah I saw that but I'm still worried. The Modric saga gives me deja vu. I'm reminded of Berbatov and Frazier Campbell. Leaving it this late in the window is very risky and any selling club will not have time to find a replacement. We may have backup options lined up but what happens if those clubs refuse to deal with us on the 31st? Worrying.
Slightly worrying is the fact modders will go, we will leave it till deadline day and then the selling clubs will know we have cash from modders sale making it harder.

I think we've learnt from the Berbatoss saga. Reckon Moutinho/Isco will be a yid.

"Are we trying for anyone else to replace Mods or is it wait until the last day and hope for moutinho?? (i asked this)
The original JJetset ‏@jetsetyid
trying on others ;0) no more questions on this please!!"

He mentioned also though we're trying on others. So looks like we have a back up plan

Reading between the lines, Moutinho "deadline day special IF it happens", I would suggest we are looking elsewhere first, and willonly go back to Moutinho on deadline day if nothing else has been done, so Moutinho is actually the backup plan.

I think we've learnt from the Berbatoss saga. Reckon Moutinho/Isco will be a yid.

I'm thinking it'll be one of M'Villa or Dembele personally, potentially both if VDV returns to Germany for family reasons. M'Villa is a younger prospect who already has international experience, and their chairman is more than willing to sell, without holding us to ransom, whilst Dembele allegedly has a buyot fee significantly less than Porto are asking for Motuinho, about half if rumours are true, and has PL experience too.

Where does Willian play? I thought he would be Modric replacement?

Thought he was more of a wide/central attacking midfielder(think vdv not Modric). Also, the figures quoyed, around £20m, seems like a lot really.

Moutinho would be an excellent replacement for Modric. Isco is an exciting young player but in my view he is not a replacement for Modric. They're different types of player. Isco is an attacking midfielder, rather than a deeper, pull-the-strings CM like Modric. Over time Isco might evolve into more of a deep-lying playmaker but IMO he is not ready to step into Modric's shoes yet. I would still like him at the club though.

From now on every day that passes to me is 5% more chance of Modric not leaving at all! I'd say we are at 20% now, and on deadline day if Modric is here that's 50% chance (20+6x5) he will stay with us and I for one would be extremely happy with that!

I agree with what you say but the big difference with the Berba ordeal and now is Levy refused to sell until the last day. I'd be surprised if Levy doesn't have a replacement lined up (whether its moutinho, is a diff matter)

What do you guys reckon JJ meant when asked about Isco? Pass on Isco (we don´t want him) or pass on the question (don´t want to answer)?

I took it as either pass dont want to answer, or pass I don't know....

Pass because it's sensitive. Abramovic is so pissed off we wouldn't sell him Modric that every time we look to buy a young midfielder he blows us out of the water just for the hell of it.

This was from Sky Sports, but they could be wrong about positions.. but anyway thought I would share

Andre Villas-Boas is keen to add more attacking talent to his ranks, with Croatia playmaker Luka Modric expected to depart for Real Madrid.

And the White Hart Lane boss has identified Willian, who can operate out wide or in a more central advanced midfield role, as a potential target.
