There was info a few weeks ago that the Modric fee and personal terms had been agreed but both parties agreed to delay the deal until Spurs have lined up a replacement.

If the delay is because we haven't, or if Levy is doing his Levywindow-esque manoeuvrings it may well go down to the last day.

Doubt it though.

I wonder if Sahin being confirmed to Liverpool is the first in the chain, Real visibly freeing space in their squad, before announcing Modric to fill that gap, in turn, we then announce our replacement for Modric...

Everyones talking with some certainty that we have now finished our dealings for this summer (a bit disappointing to be honest) and reading the Evening Standard it seems that AVB isnt all too happy about things. Dont forget this is a massive season for him as he has a lot to prove and prove the doubters wrong. I kinda fee a touch sorry for him but hopefully Levy can get in the players AVB wants in the next week.

My only worry is that the later we leave it, the more likely we are to hear the excuse that the selling team didn't have time to replace player x, so we couldn't complete the deal.
Hopefully, the players that we're chasing are pretty much expected to leave by their clubs, so they already have plans in place (I'm looking at you, Porto and Inter!).

It's a fine line to tread, playing the window this close but Levy is the best there is at it - he will have learnt from previous windows, make no mistake about that.
