Be glad to be at the Lane again and forget about transfers for a bit.
Following yesterdays info from the Lodge about Levy shaking Modric's hand don't we think that was goodbye and good riddance/luck in your new job?

From now on every day that passes to me is 5% more chance of Modric not leaving at all! I'd say we are at 20% now, and on deadline day if Modric is here that's 50% chance (20+6x5) he will stay with us and I for one would be extremely happy with that!

I both hope and want Modric to be gone by the close of the window. After the 2nd summer window of him trying to force a move I now longer wish for him ever to pull on our "Famous White Shirt" he doesn't deserve to wear it now in my eyes. If we had a Shitty or Chavski rich owner or if I had won the 148m Euro lottery I would have paid his wages and made him train and play with the reserves or whoever just to show that he should have more respect for our "special" football club. Who the f-ck does he think he is!!! Rant over :)

There was info a few weeks ago that the Modric fee and personal terms had been agreed but both parties agreed to delay the deal until Spurs have lined up a replacement.

If the delay is because we haven't, or if Levy is doing his Levywindow-esque manoeuvrings it may well go down to the last day.

Doubt it though.

Very worried about JJ's tweet regarding Moutinho:

"deadine day special 'IF' it happens"

So potentially we could sell Modric and not secure his replacement. Or scramble around on the last day of the window making bids for random central midfielders. This concerns me greatly.

That worries me too. If we do the deadline day scramble again it will be massively disappointing after such a good start to the transfer window.

It appears a very difficult deal. Porto are notoriously stubborn and the release fee sets the benchmark for negotiations. The player probably wants to come, but would be just as content to stay - it's that kind of team. Players can leave if the fee is met. The chairman is like Levy, maybe this is the problem!

if he doesn't join it won't be for a lack of trying.

Last couple of days have been insanely funny on the ITK front. Can't remember it being so intense.

Started waking up in the middle of the night feeling a disturbance in the ITK force and having to fire up the iPad. Mrs nickspurs less than impressed....

Final stretch now and a match to take our minds off it.

Willian, Mouts and LD seems most likely.

I think that if you think there is a chance of Modric staying you are deluded.

In a nice way of course.

Jj says we are 'close' to signing someone though and clarifies its not Mountiho or either of the Brazilians...Any suggestions?? Am thinking it could well be a Gk because if we are still after signing the above 3 (as jj confirms we are) then logic suggests its not gonna be someone who plays in the positions of those 3 aforementioned players...

this is the heart of the problem with Levy, knowing when to move on rather than flog a difficult deal with a difficult chairman to death

I thought the Goat idea was to prevent the Q&A's.
It was. Sadly JJ changed his mind.
I think answering questions is not the problem, but rather lots of people repeating the same questions without bothering to read anything before they ask..
Questions is indeed the problem. See Stoof's post above, but not only that, it was making the thread impossible to follow as well as making the actual info/context of info almost impossible to keep up to date.

It's one of the things we're probably going to put a stop to on SC when we revamp, I don't think there's much we can do about the Q&A's on Twitter but we can certainly influence it on here.

I understand.

I have enough problems following a simple thread, let alone one that JJ is involved in.
