Don't they also supply the Red Sox. Maybe it's a way of shifting money recieved from one of Fenway's companies to another for FFP.

Its not a coincidence is it...

Which kit supplier in their right mind would pay Liverpool £25m per year given their decline in recent years?

Their a huge global name but the quotes from Adidas are spot on, its not worth it.

from a branding perspective we are way off these guys. liverpool have won nothing of note (bar the CL trophy) in 20 years and they pull off that kind of deal, second only Barca's deal. the cynic in me says this has everything to do with the financial fair play rule coming in. Or it is pretty amazing negotiating on the part of the new american owners.

Its probably more to do with fan base. There are many more foreign markets that Liverpool will sell more shirts in than we will.

Surely, someone at the club must ask UEFA to look into this and the Citeh deals, and, if they don't, someone on here who has close connections to the club should tell them they bluddy well should do

Frankly, if they carry on buying Andy Carroll's for 35 million then they're not getting enough to pay for the fieldof donkeys they intend to put out...

In the days when we were crap, I think I looked forward to things like new kits a bit more. Nowadays, I don't care what we wear (within reason).

Liverpool are a European name as such have a bigger fan base abroad and get more exposure abroad than us so can therefore command higher commercial fees.

The £25m Liverpool will get is ablout double what they are getting now.

With our Kit sponsors, it might only be £10m a season, but we are getting more than just a shirt from them.

Our kits will have their new technology so we can get more data from games and training on our players.

Judging by Warriors output, paying somebody 25 million a season to wear that shit seems cheap

Facetiousness aside, I think I could live with an extra 15 million PER SEASON for some less ascetically pleasing shirts that, let's face it, fans will buy anyway.

Again, I think a strong argument could be made for receiving the extra £100m Liverpool stand to gain over some data for training.

who the heck are warrior sports scouserpools new sponsors?

Similar(ish) company to Under Armour - ie new American sportswear company, love their compression type kit, etc. Although I think this might be their first trip into football. Previously they have done hockey and other American sports.

Under Armor is a local company for me (Maryland-based), so I'm excited to see if they can put something decent out. They are only about 10 years old, AFAIK, but they are really going after Nike/Adidas in the States. We'll be their biggest club I believe, so perhaps they'll be keen to have a real "superstar" on the team that they can market to the American/global public.

As for Warrior Sports, they're a smaller Under Armor that does mostly ice hockey and lacrosse equipment in the States. Those are niche sports, played mostly by intolerable, privileged, prep-school types. 25mil is 25mil though.

Supply the Sox with what? Major League Baseball has a collective uniform deal and all teams outfits are provided by Majestic Athletic. This includes practice wear, which would be called Batting Practice jerseys.

This just looks like Henry negotiated a great deal with a daft person at Warrior. And they make Lacrosse and Hockey (actually they would be a minor Hockey supplier as that sport is monopolized by CCM) gear.

From the Guardian:

Rather than taking a risk with a company unknown in football – Michigan-based Warrior were synonymous with lacrosse and hockey before last year becoming supplier to the Boston Red Sox, the baseball club that shares owners with Liverpool – Ayre believes the club will benefit as the company's main priority. That, it is suspected at Liverpool, has not always been the case with Adidas. Liverpool's MD added: "What really encouraged us is that this is their first foray into football and so we are their only customer and they will be very focused on Liverpool Football Club and promoting this opportunity around the world."

I imagine, though, if what you say is true, they merely supply under-uniform pieces?

Interestingly, the same article mentions that Liverpool expect to double that money as they can now open club shops anywhere in the world, something Adidas previously wouldn't allow.

Under Armour are the fastest growing sports brand in the world (or is it only US?), either way we'll be fine and our recognition in the US will grow big time.
