I still don't understand what Roma plan to do with him. Play him at RB or DM? They already have plenty of good CBs.

He reminds me of another Romanian misfit, Christian Chivu ; started out as a left back with Roma but became an excellent cb and dcm. You don't have to be a leviathan to be a good cb and you only have to look at Baresi to get that. However both Chivu and Baresi were hugely competitive, aggressive leaders and I don't see that in Vlad. He is incredibly versatile and would be worth keeping on that basis and he might yet learn to control himself. Between him and Younes I would rather he stayed but it wouldn't be a terrible loss if he left.

Yeah, I don't get it either. They've got a wealth of talent at CB currently on the roster and Jedvaj on loan and looking pretty good. I'm not complaining, though. I think we will get an upgrade in (Hector Moreno makes the most sense, obviously). I feel as though Fazio, Vertonghen, Moreno and Dier is a really nice group of CBs.

I don't think he'll make a DM either. Those mistakes you risks you mentioned are the kind of thing that you cannot afford a DM to make. A DM has to be resolute and disciplined. Win the ball and release it quickly. Sandro was very good at that, and rarely fucked about with the ball. Chiriches loves to fuck about with the ball. If he decides to go for a run down the centre, or let a pressing midfielder steal the ball off him in the centre circle whilst he's trying to hold it up or do a silly Cruyff turn, then we'll be in a world of trouble.
I understand what you're saying, but I'd much rather he makes those mistakes as a DM with 2 CBs behind him than as a CB with just Lloris next up for the opposition.

i hope we dont sell vlad. i like him and i like the fact that he takes risks and is confident enough to try to turn inside the 6 yard box. he never fails to entertain and he can actually defend and defend well when he chooses to. i know he divides opinion but i personally think he can be a top class cb for us if we stick with him.

I am sorry but any defender that trys turns in the six yard box is asking for trouble. His job is to defend, and everything is see him play he makes me shit my pants with his erratic defending. And that isn't good for either of us.

I much rather he makes those mistakes in a Roma shirt to be honest

I believe Chiriches is a good one on one defender better imo than Vertonghen who positionally is awful and shit one on one.

I don't want him to go. Have been interested in recent talk about him switching to midfield. Would rather Capoue out and keep Vlad. But the newspaper talk is pretty certain he will be going to Italy. Shame.

Vlad is a really good player and is always willing to attack. makes me wonder why AVB bought so many attacking players only to play defensive football. I hope we do not sell.

Yep more sheit from Vlad today. Stupid clearances off the line to stop a certain goal, last ditch tackles at the feet of Falcao. Hope he's sold to Roma asap

You're a glass half full kind of guy aren't you. Even when it's half full of piss.

Chiriches' positioning was laughable, and he made mistake after mistake.

No I appreciate the way you focus on the positives. It's just that in this case I think it's misplaced. Like a Chiriches pass.

I find it very difficult to believe you actually appreciate anything positive that anyone has to say, unless it's about someone you actually rate, of course, then it's a whole different story. Each to their won and all that (y)
