For me, the rest of the season is about preparing for next season. Unlikely that we're going to get top 4 now. Not that the gap is huge, but because we don't look capable of winning, against anyone. Poch said it (rebuild) was going to be painful - and he was right. Second half of the season is about Jose working with the team, see who has a future, who doesn't. We already have 4 new players since the summer TW, and they appear to be very good players. I believe next season will see a more settled Spurs, as right now, we're just drifting from game to game with, what seems like no set plan, other than, let's get this season out the way.

No investment? Seriously? 4 players from the summer TW til now. Not his fault some of them have been injured for much of the season. Please don't bang on about the TW where we signed no-one. That's been done to death. We can't keep blaming that. The fact is, we have stared investing in the team. We can't replace an entire 11 in one window.

Arsenal winning as well. Shocking how we became so torrid for 21 months. We are a top 6 team we should start acting like one

We understandably didn't have much to spend while the stadium was built, and do appear to have a lot more now it is going by the summer window and activity in this one already. But when you look at Poch's transfers, very few were successful. Do you blame Levy for not investing in the squad at the same time as the stadium, or the rest of the staff for the poor way in which the money we did have was spent? I certainly think we could have done better than what we did get which was literally a whole squads worth of players with only three really being considered good enough now:

N'Jie
Stambouli
Janssen
Fazio
N'Koudou
Clarke
Ndombele
Sessegnon
Lo Celso
Yedlin
Aurier
Lopez
Vorm
Gazzaniga
Wimmer
Foyth
Llorente
Wanyama
Sissoko
Sanchez
Lucas
Davies
Trippier
Dier
Alderweireld
Dele
Son
What about the good players that we were interested in and in most cases made derisory bids and they went elsewhere quite cheaply considering their value now. I'm thinking of Madison, Maguire and Grealish. Those three players in our side now would make a world of difference. Another 5 to 10 mil would have got them and in Maguire's case he would have come for a little more wages than was offered. Yet we are prepared to pay 50 mil or more for Ndombele and Lo Celso who aren't so far as good as either Madison or Grealish.

I think we are paying the price for the apathy in the running of the club in terms of the player recruitment and monitoring but I think we all know that.
Having said that there are a LOT of games left in this season for us and long gone ( I pray) are the my formative days as a young Spurs fan when our season would really be over by now year in year out. I think we should go hell for leather for the FA cup and the CL. I also think we need to finish as high up the league a possible and guarantee European football for next season AS WELL as concentrate on next season and the preparation thereof. Big clubs do that you know.

Who cares where we are in the league at present, don't get it. I haven't looked at it for months now, quite honestly. It's like a lot of fans are still looking up the league, wondering how many points we are off top four and if we can get it.

We've hit a bad year, that can happen with perfect or imperfect actions form those involved. Fact is though that the season was a write off months ago, performances indicated that, before Jose even came in. Who gives a fuck about the league table now as long as we're outside the relegation zone. The only focus now should be on taking a wrecking ball to the parts that have or are in decline and so need to be removed, get players out on that pitch who want to be here, are hungry, will give 150% each week, rediscover those qualities that got us up at the top table and work out who can play a part going forward and what is needed on top of that*.

*whether Mourinho is the man to do that job, and if that's the role we had in mind for him when he was hired, remains to be seen...….

Plenty of good points today, but we do get pushed about in midfield far too much and then there is the fancy dan pissing about around the penalty area resulting in sweet FA. Of course, I noticed the half arsed passing from winks and, Lamela does wander down dead ends with the ball. Course, we need to be drawn a picture of what the goal looks like but then we need some crosses in the box to help. Vertongen well I think its pipe and slippers time, and where was I.................ah yes there were some good points, Gazzaniga for one and Lo celso had a good game. Best of all we didn't let a goal in.

Joe Cole is an illiterate fuckwit who genuinely hates us. How he is making a living talking about anything is beyond me.

This is the man, when talking about Fabio Capello's England reign, said "me and the boys were wondering what's going on here. I mean, he don't speak no English."

A cretin.

I highly doubt that if Poch had said he's rather not spend £15m at a time on N'Jie, N'Koudou and the like, or even £42m on Sanchez, that Levy would have said no, you can't spend that money on young English players instead. That's my point - there wasn't an awful lot of money available, but Poch made some really shocking choices with what he did have on the table.

I agree but I really don’t think we are far away from having a decent eleven. If we don’t buy a striker or get one in somehow we won’t finish top 8 let alone top ten.
