Without cb's that can progress the ball the system doesn't work. We need Romero and Lenglet in the side. Sanchez and Davies are fine defensively but don't do enough with the ball

We were playing like this last season until Conte gave Doherty a go. Hopefully he gets a game vs Fulham
True, the system relies heavily on attacks by both wingbacks. It's lacking, though Emerson has been doing well.

Ffs I thought we were going to seriously improve this squad.

We have, somewhat...but its not enough.

We need another firecracker up front like Zaha.

What's frustrating is that we knew the problems before the window, and we've added good depth but the problems are still there. Emerson is still starting at RWB, Davies still at LWB (even though he's been really solid but for out system we need more) and there're no real signs of anyone displacing them as things stand. The balance between the two midfielders and 3 attackers also just doesn't look right. When it goes to the front three it's often back to goal and needing little passes around the corner to actually break into space which can be all a bit too intricate and hopeful at times. And I'm sorry but no one will convince me that someone who isn't more of a renowned passer of the ball wouldn't help this squad, even as just a secondary option.

Once again, thought we were better for periods in the first half when Kane dropped deep but then we didn't have that central figure.

I feel I'm becoming less and less convinced that 3-4-3 is the answer, at least with the players we have. I do feel I can only really truly judge when/if both Lenglet and Romero play in the defence either side of Dier though.

I don't mind 'less attractive' football at all if I think it's sustainable, I'm just currently not sure this is. I don't think we're riding our luck as defensively we've improved so much but we need to improve in many attacking aspects when we're not just counter attacking.

Bissouma was rusty first half but after they scored we had 10 minutes where Bissouma got on the ball, moved it quickly and we began to sustain attacks.

Sadly it was all ruined by Davies and Hojbjerg trying to hoik it into the channels.

3rd in table. Unbeaten and the two draws coming at notoriously difficult grounds to get points from. Things will come good.

I’ve seen people slating Conte and more than one “fuck Conte”, I mean seriously. Calm down morons.
is no denying conte got it wrong tonight and i've yet to be impressed with him this season with his in game tactics, has been very slow to react and impact games

Most of you are sofa fans and haven’t a clue about football lol. This is a fantastic point.

Yes, but West Ham have been shit this season. They where there for the taking, but we didn't care. That is frustrating - we didn't try to win, we didn't try to change when it was obvious what we where doing wasn't working.

I thought a point was a fair result. It's never, ever easy against West Ham at their place and in seasons past we would have crumbled under the late pressure and things that went against us.

Between Royal and PEH for MotM for me. PEH battled and suffered for the team. Royal is getting better and better. He's come on leaps and bounds in a year.

Sanchez had one of his not so great, rabbit in headlights kinda games. Peresic is pure class. Bissouma got a silly yellow which hamstrung him somewhat but he was much better 2nd half. Richarlison made an impact once again. Son needs to get his shooting boots on. It's a new challenge for him with Richarlison breathing down his neck and I'm sure he will rise to it.

It's progress. Be patient.

The Lloris to Sanchez to Emerson passing combo was depressing. West Ham held off until the ball got to Emerson and then pressed him and we either went backwards, lost the ball or whacked it long to a West Ham player.

It's shame Spence isn't deemed ready, his pace and dribbling would have really helped 2nd half.
Yeah i wonder if his raw pace would scare opponents and give us another strong to our bow.

All this players needing to know exactly what they want to do is getting a bit annoying if Emerson has to keep playing (he’d be great in a back four but wing back…).

Or even Doherty who was creating and scoring prior to injury.

Just waiting for the first Conte out calls. They are coming. Third in the league with two of our toughest away matches already over us. I hate people.

Mate youve just conjured up a scenario that hasnt or wont happen. However you cant watch that and think that was any good. The acid test is if Arsenal played like that - what would you say? It wasnt great and strange - we played in our own half and thats it.. then we hoofed it.. What is that about

Conte's system requires world class wing backs, we bought a very good one in Perisic but we forgot to upgrade on Royal and Doherty.
You seem to be making the assumption that, if we had two world class wing backs, then Conte's system would work. My considered opinion is that that assumption is bollocks.

I think people need to calm down. Annoying not to win as we should have done better first half but it’s their cup final don’t forget.

If you can’t win, don’t lose.
But we really could and should have won, so that statement you e made is just an insipid cliche imo

West Ham are in a false position in the league. They’re a better team now than many give them credit for. They’ll be pushing too 6 again this season.

It’s a point up on last season’s result. I watched Fulham last night and they’re a poor side. If we don’t get a solid win against them I’ll be disappointed.

For those complaining, last season we were shit and got zero points from these five fixtures. This season we’ve been shit and got 11 points from the very same games. We can’t complain too much, so far. We’ve been playing teams that are better suited against us.
You’re assuming we will win all the games we did last season. We won’t. We will struggle to win games because we are too negative in our play. Also every game I have seen has been rubbish. We have a on some of them but the football has been rubbish. West Ham did very little to get the goal (apart from a foul throw) to score against us.

We're just a very different team with Bentancur, Romero and Doherty playing.
