brilliant performances from our debutants, loving how we have a calm striker infront of goal and how he can hold the ball up for more than a second..

Though everyone played well today. I dont like the way Friedel parried the ball though, think he did it against City as well. Adebayor was brilliant today, held the ball up well, look forward to him and VDV working together although Defoe worked fairly well with him today. Thought Modric and Parker did really well, look to have settled already. I think when Sandro is back we will have trouble finding room for those 3. Maybe a 433 system will be required.

We win away to an on form side, our debutants apparently play well, two strikers score, I'm happy. Looking forward to motd.

Parkers workrate was impressive and he won the ball back well lots of times, cant wait to see both him and Sandro in the same team. His passing was ok, looked a bit awkward on the ball at times and could have released it quicker but he got it right when it mattered for Adebayor's goal. A good debut.

Adebayor did very well for someone who hasnt played a lot of football recently. Held the ball up well and brought other players into play. Also worked hard to close down and was a threat trying to get in behind as well. Cant wait to see him build on this.

So good debuts for both of them, I'm sure theres more to come. COYS

agreed, Parker & Sandro together in tougher games would cover so much ground,

Modric threw himself around a bit too though today, no question of his commitment.

So we had Kranjcar on the left and Bale on the right? Did the fullbacks at least make the most of the fact that they were presumably cutting in all the time.

Yes we started like that but in the second half they swapped wings.

BAE got forward and put in one good cross, Walker always looked to get forward but the quality of his final ball wasnt the best IMO.

He did.
This is what he didn't do against Citeh...some folk seemed to that this looking for it is an important aspect of his game, and so didn't notice when he didn't do it (one of the few matches I have seen where he didn't).

Have to say that it seems odd to move Bale to accomodate Kranjcar. For all the talk of Kranjcar 'not being able to play on the right' surely he's not better on the left than Bale so to move them both was an odd decision.

Nevermind though. All's well that ends well.

Nice to win

We was better in the second half, but overall it was still a poor performance. What was harry thinking playing Bale on the right... It was just awful.

It certainly was not Harry's tactics that won the game today. Happy we won as I predicted a draw, but Harry can still fook off for all I am concerned.

COYS!!

Oh dear

For me Sandro has to play with Parker central midfield, with Modric left away from home.

well yeah 4-3-3 on the ball, 4-5-1 off it.

Parker
Sandro
Modric

VDV
Ade
Bale

That's the badger. I would generally not go 4-4-2 away from home (although I haven't seen how we did today so maybe it does work) so would prefer that approach.

Mind you it seems silly talking about changing things after such a good result. We should just enjoy that for a while.
