Apparently Crouch ran over to the bench when Jones was brought on at Stoke today, only to realise he hadn't been subbed. LOL.

For me Sandro has to play with Parker central midfield, with Modric left away from home.

Not sure I understand this when the current evidence is that we've won and kept a clean sheet at a tough away ground with a Modric Parker combo in the centre of a 442 and two flair players out wide.

I thought we played more like 4-2-2-2 today. Kranky was hardly ever out on the side and Bale cut inwards alot also.

My conclusion after todays match is me wanting even more to switch from 4-4-2 into a 4-2-3-1 when Sandro comes back. Parker and Sandro in front of our defence is going to result into alot less goals against.

Seeing how Ade holds up the ball quite easy (considered hes not match fit yet) will create plenty of goals with Bale/Modric/VDV linking up with him.

Away from home against thougher teams we can move Modric between Parker and Sandro and Bale and VDV to play something like 4-2-1-2-1 or 4-3-3 if you want :p

I know it's a cliché but it really was touch and go until the first goal. Up until that point it could have quite easily gone either way. After the first we got a little of that confidence back and played a lot better.

It really helps to have a player up front that can hold up the ball and bring others into the game.

batigol- I am more than pleased with what parker showed. His take no prisoners mentality and energy were very welcome in the middle of the park. Yet he did get caught a couple times in the middle of the park which lead to some breaks for Wolves. I know he will come true, but I am not going to say he had a remarkable game. I think he would admit that he had some mishaps. COYS!

Thought Parker was a bit too much of a headless chicken today, but it's his first game and did very well for the goal. But don't think he was 'excellent' as many are claiming. Certainly didn't do anything Palacios wouldn't have, and would still drop him for Sandro when he's fit again.

All true. Mind you, I thought Wolves were poor-their workrate aside-and they almost seemed to give up the ghost when we bagged our first. Really was nothing in the game at that point.

The game was tight and Wolves are not the same team as they were a couple of seasons ago, they play decent football and work very hard. They really missed Jarvis as well.

That said, I thought that as the second half went on we grew into it and looked more dangerous. Ade is different class it must be said, his touch, his movement and his use of the ball are well beyond anything that we have had since Berbs. He drifts wide and make space and when he drops deep he uses the ball excellently.

Personally, away from home I would go with Parker and Sandro with Mods ahead of them and Bale and VDV wide. Parker was good, a bit sloppy at times, but generally very strong. However, he is in no way shape or form a better player than Sandro and if we are to go 4-4-2 Sandro has to play. He is more mobile, more skillful, more athletic, more agressive and has a better engine. The 2 of them holding would/will be formidable and with the guile and movement of Ade, Rafa and mods ahead of them, we will dominate most midfields.

Pleased with the result and if we beat pool next week we will be back in business!

They weren't at their best that is for sure, but a big part of the way the game went after we scored was the way we kept the ball. Ade, mods, niko, bae, bale and parker all kept their composure and we just didn't allow them to get a head of steam up at all. If we did that more last season we would be playing wednesday nights instead of thursday.

I can't wait for Van De Vaart to link up with Adebayor....Harry should also give Dos Santos a chance now we have a decent main striker.

Nothing to analysis really, it wasn't a great game. It was a nice win as winning always is.

Was good to actually see a striker at last in Ade. Parker did well and did his job.

Every highlight was either Niko losing the ball leading to a Wolves chance or Niko starting a move leading to a Spurs goal.
