Modric looks to have fully recovered now. He looks the same player that started the season. What impressed me most however, was his work to win the ball back. We all know how great he is with the ball, but his workrate was excellent. Which is vital with an attacking fullback on the same side of the pitch.

What annoyed me was the blatant fouls by Everton to stop the counter attacks. For that reason alone, they didn't deserve anything from this game.

Agree, v. ugly and unsportsmanlike play. Organised fouling like that should be punished harder. They were the same at Goodison, and it injures players.

I don't disagree with you guys but lets look at things from Evertons point. They tried to play us and we outplayed them. So they went to plan B and as much as we don't like it and yes it can cause injuries the ref is the one to stop it if it goes against the rules of football. Sometimes when I've seen us play, like the Arse game and I wished we would have got in their faces and hassled them a bit more but all we done is just stand there and let them help themselves to 3 goals and 3 points

Donavon is the main reason why I loathe mouthy yanks, and today one of the reasons why I love them.

i hate the main commentator on ESPN (the one who does it for PES), his voice is so annoying and his similes are shocking. how could he say that at the end of the first half we were like champagne and everton were like a carbonated soft drink that had lost it's fizz lmao. i know its a compliment, but what the fuck ahaha.

Also made a mistake when he said we havent conceded for 9 hours at WHL since kevin Doyle.. cos i seem to remember that leeds scored against us at the lane?

What a match! Interesting to see the Modders+Kranker wings endeavour pay off, but only eventually. Not sure what to make of that delayed success, but the implication of the success itself seems to be that Kranker is staking a claim as 1st choice backup on both flanks. (At least.)

I think the difference was that finally opted to play Modrić on the left and Kranjcar on the right, rather than the other way round.

Crouch I thought was disappointing - all he needed to do was hold the ball up, but passing to him was almost a guarantee of losing the ball.

Modric looks to have fully recovered now. He looks the same player that started the season. What impressed me most however, was his work to win the ball back. Spot on. I think I was equally as impressed with his work off the ball as his work on the ball. Great determination and work rate to get back and help Bale out at times. I'm really enjoying the Bale - Modrić left side combination.

We put in in more slide tackles today then our entire 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 seasons

Modric, Bale, Dawson, and to a lesser extent, Palacios and Kranjcar, were all excellent!

Well we all know what players like Bale, Kranky, Modric and Palacios can do but Hudd!!! I think thats the best game I've ever seen him play. Practice makes perfect and on todays performance I'm happy Harry stuck with him. I was one of those calling for Sandro to replace him but if he can keep this form he will be vital to or midfield

Depending on the extent of the injury to Hudd, plus the current injury's to Bentley, Lennon and JJ it would appear sensible for Harry to now recall O'Hara from his loan spell.

That was a nerve wrecking finish, delighted we held out for the win, thought Bale was class today.

i'm not sure that's even allowed. he could be recalled but he wouldnt be able to play for us..

p.s berbatov running around like a trooper in the final.. how predictable!?

Indeed. Couldn't really pin down why, but it felt like it'd make more sense, and lots of people before the match were hoping it'd be that way round. Probably it's not only the obvious point that Kranker has a good cross with his right, because he looked far more capable of providing width down there.
