BOURNEMOUTH are demanding an apology following an X-rated tackle by Steve Slade.

But Slade may not be round to say sorry, after reports that Cambridge will sack him for allegedly spitting at fans after he was red-carded.

He was sent off for a two-footed lunge on Steve Purches, and Bournemouth chairman Trevor Watkins said: "I will be writing to the FA and Cambridge to complain about the tackle by Slade and the whole incident which followed."

But Cambridge boss Roy McFarland said: "He got the ball cleanly and I was amazed at the reaction of Bournemouth." Trialist Slade, who flopped at QPR and Spurs, set up an early goal for Zema Abbey but Steve Fletcher equalised with two minutes remaining.

The mafioso, guns, drugs and kitten drowning clearly took their toll. A gentleman sportsman turned savage. With nowhere left to turn he obviously dropped out of public life with just his spittle on the cheeks of a few Cambridge United fans as reminder of the man who went before.

I think we at SC should offer a sanctuary for Steve Slade. With the help of people like Bus Conductor, Lanh, SpurSince57 and Stoof we can reintegrate Slade back into the community. Steve, if you read this, we're here for you.

Terry Dixon was released by West Ham over the summer I think, I remember seeing a great picture of him in a reserve game there, he looked like he weighed about 18 stone!

:eek:mg:

Terry Dixon pic I mentioned earlier (he has been released by West Ham now, wonder why!)

by mutual consent i read. he felt he wasn't getting a fair crack of the whip despite banging in a few goals.

The single biggest miss on SC compared to years gone by? In this reporter's opinion: maybe, I'm not sure really. They were ruddy good but perhaps there's something that's slipped my mind.

Can I echo what Bill has said. I think Eddie's reports are the things I miss most from SC days of yore

Eddie, you must have seen Steve Slade a few times. Is there any advice regarding his capture and suppression? Is he likely to turn nasty if we harpoon him?

We need to tempt him out of hiding somehow Bill, possibly with kittens dressed in bling.

Too kind. Sadly all my reports were lost when SC switched servers, and I had not kept copies, so the nostalgic glow will have to remain forever in tact!!

Do you know if he is gonna try and get signed by another club or has he given up on football now?

I played against him when he turned out for Old Town Boys. Different gravy to our bunch of jokers. I marked him a couple of times and he tore me to shreds.

Our respective dads actually fell out (which was doubly entertaining as my dad had until recently been MP for Eastbourne) about the amount of commitment Piercy was showing, my old man feeling that for 13-14 year olds the game should be about technique and enjoying the football and Mr P Snr screaming "jockey! jockey! go in harder!"

Nice to hear he's having an impact back in sunny Eastbourne. I was delighted when he joined Spurs. Not many from E'bourne who can say that.

Old Town Boys certainly had a good side then, another guy in that team Joey Hunter also spent some time at Spurs, he's got some great pictures of himself and Klinsmann. So i take it your Dad is Nigel Waterson?

I heard Steve Slade printed out old copies from before the server debacle and reads through them every night before sleeping. They take him back to a happier place.

Nah, Waterson won it off the old man. Mr BO Snr was the one and only Lib Dem for donkeys years (until the last election) after the terrible death of Ian Gow. When you work it out you'll suddenly 'get' my username.

I remember me and my mate getting Andy Turner's autograph away at Forest and then about 10 years later my mate and Andy Turner were playing in the same non league side.

Was in primary school with his very cute cousin, was always asking her to get me an autograph but bint never did. She was still the hottest girl in the class though

Fenn was best spurs youth player I've seen. Saw him score a hatrick for Ireland u21. He pretty much disappeared then. Now playing In Ireland doing ok scoring wise but nothing to write home about

Leigh Mills' story is an odd one..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leigh_Mills

Footballers and marriage huh? I guess the local ladies of the night must be delighted although, playing at Winchester, I guess he's more at the £45/night end of the spectrum than Rooney's £1,200.

Rohan Ricketts – plays in the moldovian national division......
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohan_Ricketts

Calum Davenport – just funny that he is playing in a league 9 divisions below the premier which is why I included him (not even going to bother linking him!)

Charlie Lee – Shame about this one, I remember seeing him in a youth FA cup game against Everton and was impressed but he just drifted away
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Lee

Rodrigo Defendi – just loved the name and I think that is why we bought him
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodrigo_Defendi

Leigh Mills – paid over £1m for him as a 15 or 16 year old, my Swindon mate was livid “next big star” she said.....retired aged 19 and now plays for his local club Winchester city. £1m player to Winchester city.....wtf?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leigh_Mills

Tomâš Pekhart – bags of goals for the youth teams and expected by SC members to be out next big thing.....oh well
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomáš_Pekhart

Espen Baardsen – International caps and still retired to go backpacking!! 7 years out of the game and still only 32!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Espen_Baardsen

Milenko Ačimovič – big reputation, awful miss from 1 yard out, never seen again

There was an interview was Baardsen on Premier League World last season. He's a pretty successful financial dude.

Makes you wonder what Steve Slade could have achieved if such a route had been available to him post-Spurs.

Disgusting. Plain disgusting. I heard he threw her in a bin dressed in a huge cat costume.

Which at least shows his notorious sense of irony remains intact.
