Nobody ever answered my question as to why the club would be worth more in Stratford than Tottenham.

Entirely redeveloped area, with state-of-the-art transport links, internationally encouraged investment, ultra-modern housing and minutes to centre of London or City Airport

vs

Derelict ghetto with terrible transport links, no sound reason to go there bar the football club itself, rundown accommodation and takes age to get to and from

That's why the club would be worth more. The former will happen despite us. The latter would have to be changed directly by us

CPO's can take years, you don't just issue one and that's it, the recipient has the right to resist and it can go as far as a public enquiry which indeed can take years.

This is just wrong, there is a set timetable for CPOs which I have posted here before, the maximum it will take is 9 months, including any public enquiry. There is the possibility of legal action after this which could take years, but it would also be prohibitively expensive to 3 small businesses and I don't know how much money the Jehovas have.

Just a bit of clutching aat straw speculation what happens if there is also a 'minority' report from a member of the OLPC saying they though we were thought by them to be the best? Not unheard of in legal matters:-|

This is great news. Moving to Stratford would have been disastrous IMO.

It's not a case of celebrating the hindering of our club's progress, it's a case of celebrating the fact that we are staying close to what is our home. There's more important things than money. It's the fact that so many people are money driven in all their decisions that has turned the world into a place of such economic instability, and the reason why the world has changed dramatically over the past 10 years.

If this is true, and what Levy said is true, then our football club died last night. Here begins a slow and painful death.

We would have in Stratford aswell we would have been paying for enics bottom line as opposed to a new stadium

What?

Costs less to go to Stratford than do anything else. Therefore it's going to cost us more to do 'anything else'.

This could now mean no big signings for awhile, and more importantly, maybe no big bids for a striker we need! as more money will now need to be pushed into getting a new stadium that will cost more

Anyone that is anti-Stratford should have a look at the Deloitte report this morning.

It's plainly obvious we need the OS to make the step up. Unless they start charging £90 for a ticket in the Park Lane against West Brom then nothing else is going to work.

What the fuck has that got to do with price of eggs?

All football is these days is money. So no, in terms of our football club, there is nothing more important than money.

The reason the Athletics world has backed West Ham's bid? Because it furnishes their back pocket ultimately. They don't care if it's Spurs or West Ham playing their football there. They care about how UK Athletics is going to get the most money out of getting in bed with a football club.

All this "legacy" crap is bullshit.

This is a massive blow to our club. Massive. We've ultimately had two failed plans now to rebuild our stadium. How much do you reckon that has already cost us.

The only positive spin is that we seem to have found a partner in AEG - who are looking to get involved in our forthcoming projects. This is a good thing.

As I've asked people skeptical about the costs before, if it wasn't cheaper why would Levy make it up? It's his money he's spending afterall. He's hardly trying to trick people for his own benefit. If he says the OS is cheaper I think it's cheaper.

But he never has said it will be cheaper, in fact in his own words: "I have never said the Olympic Stadium will be cheaper".

Our PR department really to be overhauled after this failure. They allowed the hammers to make it an emotive issue and the public were fooled by it.did the public know the original plan was just to leave a 25k stadium there? That there was never a promise made that the athletics legacy would be that stadium? We were out smarted by two dildo salesmen & a sun journo

I really hope Levy has something up his sleeve :-(

Nic, I don't know what he can have up his sleeve, I really don't.

I honestly belived him rightly or wrongly when he said that the NPD is no longer viable, and dead in the water.

There is no way that he can go back on that now. He aslo said that there was nothing else in the pipeline.

I understand the fans who didn't want us to move because of our home etc etc, but this is actually quite a sad day for me now, the reality of it all. We may start to go backwards, and anyone who knows me on here, knows that I am not a pessimistic poster/person.

Stratford would have been the death of Tottenham Hotspur. It would have been the end of our club being a proper football club, representing it's original community in it's home as football clubs should.

Stratford would have created Stratford Franchise FC, just a commercialized monstrosity, no tradition, history or culture behind it. Our club would have died as we would simply have sold out.

Tottenham are like Superman, we fight for truth, justice and the footballing way. We are a club with integrity and history, Levy would have killed that moving us to Stratford.

Now Levy can reveal his lies. He can admit that the NDP was perfectly viable, just that when the Stratford site and AEG came along, money in hand, he saw dollar signs and told a lie.

Or Levy can sod off out of our club.

Either way, this is a magnificent day, North London is OURS, we are Tottenham, from the LANE!

If the NDP proves unviable, as it almost certainly will, you're going to be campaigning to keep us in the existing ground, with the financial limitations that will place on the club? Not sure that will have the appeal that the anti-Stratford movement did.

If it's the only option on the table to keep us in Tottenham then yes I will be campaigning to stay at the current ground, even if I'm the only one campaigning. I believe there is an intrinsic link between Tottenham and Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

My feelings too Matty. I wasn't particularly pro or anti Stratford, I just want what is best for the club, and that is a new stadium that will allow us to continue to compete at the level we are at and give us the chance to press on. Losing the Olympic Stadium alongside what Levy has said about the NDP puts us in a terrible position.

There is no way that this is a magnificent day, not for our football club. If you want to watch a club die and fade out watch White Hart Lane. If we don't get a new stadium this is the way we'll go.
