Ac Milan was one of Wilsons more recent games and he was outstanding in it. I think it's a mistake to jetteson him. Best get Ohara and Jenas off the list to get parker and then consider waht to do about WP later on in the window. Would be so silly to get rid of him early only to find Modric and sandro are both turned by massive offers.

Agreed. Like a few have posted, there's a lot of people who need to be out the door before Wilson IMO.

Haha, so true. Considering none of it has come off he gives me that bit of hope and prevents me from being pessimistic. Before I know it the transfer window will be over and whilst I dreamt of stars like ronaldo we ended up with hasslebank and a new ball boy called ron who caused all the confusion!

If Parker's mates with Harry & Jamie then there's a good chance he'll sign for us.

In the past he probably thought he was better than us and/or didn't like our management.

No - he was a greedy sod and chased the shilling at Chelsea, Newcastle & WHam.

Parker is an upgrade on Jeans, but spending more than £5m on a 3rd/4th choice midfielder seems a bit much to me. I suppose if negating his fee from selling on Jenas then it isn't the worse bit of business.

But we do need to sort the striker situation out first.

He won't be 3rd/4th choice though. He would be straight in the team, I very much hope in either of these midfields:

----------Parker--------Sandro------------

vdV--------------Modric---------------Bale

or

------------------Sandro--------------------
----------Modric----------Parker-----------
vdV-------------------------------------Bale

In either instance, I would be happy to sign him. I would not be happy at all if he came in and went straight in the team ahead of Sandro.

I think it gives us great options.

Worth saying that the Revista La Liga show is on on SSN in a couple of minutes. They've promised to answer lots of questions sent in to their twitter, and reveal a signing for a Premier League club from La Liga

Twitter in at: @revistadelaliga if you want a question answered. Flog it with enough spurs fans asking questions they'll be sure to answer a few...

I'm sorry. I really don't care if we get Parker. But that's not fair because its not greedy, it's just what all people do. If you get two job offers, wage is one of the main ways you evaluate them. People are people in that they are almost always going to take a job with more money. Just because he makes more than we would, doesn't mean he's not going to get as much as he can. That's just human tendency and we shouldn't expect footballers to act any different than we do.

I can't see us playing with only 1 striker up front and with VDV out wide very often.

we'd have to sign a very specific type of striker for that to work and i haven't seen us linked with anyone of that type so far this summer.

Wherever vdV plays it's only really nominal - he does pretty much whatever he likes. Surely Drogba's that sort of striker? Leandro? Lukaku? Berbatov even.

I think the main question would be whether vdV and Bale can score enough for that formation. I think 30 between them for the season wouldn't be out of the question. The strong links with Gervinho also suggest to me that we must be considering those kinds of formation - he'd be on the right.

Apart from Bale not much pace there. Great players but I don't know if it would work with VDV out right. Maybe a midfield 3 with Bale and Lennon/someone else as wing backs and VDV floating behind the striker? Don't know never been a football manager will see next season with who comes in.

That Roger Morgan info is probably music to Levy's ears! Time for Levy to pump some money out of clubs.
