I agree. For me Adam would be a backward step on O'Hara. Older and far less versatile. However we can't offer JO'H the regular first team opportunities that he desires and I can therefore understand his move.

Dzeko has had half a season, most as sub and Tevez was main man.

Veron excelled when he was played in the correct position, and did ok for Chelsea.
Aqualani was injured and wasnt given time when he came back. Did show flashes of how good he was.
Ill flip it then. Prem to Prem high fees.
Robbie Keane - couldnt handle the 20m fee on his head.
Berbatov - Still not showing that he was worth 30m
Bentley - Piss poor, again couldnt handle the fee on his head.
Bent to Spurs - Piss poor again, no confidence.
Torres - 50m, no where near the form he showed for Liverpool
Carroll - On the basis Dzeko and Aqualani have been written as flops so should Carroll @ 35m.
Its swings and roundabouts. Does not matter what league they come from, what nationality its still 50/50 regardless if they do well.

Ok Drogba was the only one which was over 20m, but relative to fees at the time those players were bought most of them were at the higher end of the scale.
Modric was 16.5m at the time he was bought and we sold Robbie for 20m which i think was some sort of transfer record until we mugged Man USA for Berba at 30m.
You could say Stan Collimore was a risk at 8.5million when he went to Liverpool. Even thought the figure nowadays would buy you a very average rightback back then it was alot of money and relative to the money clubs earned.

However, seeing as earlier in the thread the work permit theory has been somewhat debunked and I don't find said twitter guy overly believable it might just be quiet
Can't say I'd be overly keen on Charlie Adam, although he scores a lot more penalties than he misses which would be a novelty for a Spurs player!
Seems like there is a lot of confidence about the Leandro deal but little speculation about another striker. I know the usual cliches but I just hope we are looking to bring someone else in to take the strain whilst Leandro finds his feet.

If he failed the medical, one would presume he failed it for a reason :shrug: I'd expect us to at least give him a very thorough one!
