Ok, back to talking about the ITK

If there is news on a player going to another club then it goes into General football (even if you do want us to sign him)

Newspaper articles can go into the players threads rather than in here.

no wish lists or formations either please.

so why are people on here blaming harry for coming out and making statements to media. at least we knew he wanted player which is good in my book.. he is a top young player. its not harrys fault our transfer targets dont sign is it?? its down to money that our club wont pay.. lets stay 4th or 5th or 6th... yeah... go levy go levy go levy...

Redknapp has said on a number of occasions since the end of the season that they are working from a list of desirable players.

Some will be attainable and others won't.

Takes Phil Jones as an example - identified by Redknapp's staff as a player who will improve the squad quality. But then Ferguson, Dalglish and Wenger, to name only three UK Managers, have all put the lad on a wish list.

The bidding begins with one of the Clubs sounding Blackburn out and then like all auctions, there is only one winner, even if the evaluations are all identical. Salary and then desire by the player to come fall in to play.

If Levy felt Jones wasn't worth £16m plus clauses, or if he did and then got to the salary element and fell short of the player's agent's desires, the transfer falls through.

If we had identified Jones as being available and we were the only club in for him, then the "British element" would not then necessarily drive up the bid.

The problem is though that British players are going to command premium prices this window, no matter how average they may be because of the regulation changes ahead.

There was never any chance of us getting Jones, northern lad, lives with his parents, he would have had no interest whatsoever in moving south

i know how a transfer works and auctions too but my point was is that harrys fault.. i love the fact he comes out and tells fans stuff. better than hearing nothing. he is simply passing the buck to levy which he is right in doing. he identified jones as a target which was very obvious. we do need someone like him at back. is it his fault then that he does not sign.. ok it has to be collective thing but britsh young talent is different . i want levy to show some balls and sign someone proven and world class. we have players like modric bale vdv sandro crying out for top players to make us better. someone mentioned leeds earlier, does not have to be that..surely to god spurs can stretch it littel way to get a benzema to get a aguero, to get a falcao, offer them decent wage and reap the rewards cos thats what will hapeen if we sign players of tha calibre.. but we wont lol

All gone very quiet on the Leandro front over the last couple of days. Because of internationals?

Ello,

Been a while, been busy at the office!

Gervinho - As already floating around, he's definately coming to the EPL, sorry to disappoint you but it's not going to be us.

Downing - We are interested, but only if Lennon is offloaded, which isn't looking likely, however if he does, we will launch a bid for him.

Hazard - No news on him.

Parker - As everyone is already posting it, it's still on the cards I guess

Leandro - Our officials will be meeting with his agent in the next day or so to discuss personal terms, you can put your house on it that Leandro will be spurs player next season.

Adam - We're interested, again.

That answers my Leandro question...

Not sure what we'd do with Adam, it was a stretch even in January when Hudd was injured and Sandro hadn't quite locked down his starting role yet. Good player but think he'd fit much better at the next tier down (Villa, Everton, etc)

have to agree, would question his ability to play in a 442 also...

his defensive responsibilites seem to be an after thought...quality left peg though...top, top drawer!

Have people actually seen Leandro play or is it highlights they are drooling over??
Haven't seen him play myself, what type of striker is he?

Adam would be a poor signing imo, not an upgrade on any of our midfielders and will just warm the bench

As for Jones, alot of money, he would have to be to 1st choice for that outlay.
If people worried about the depth we have at the back, what about John O'Shea, supp being linked to Sunderland, he would cover all positions at the back, centre back, left back, right back and even holding midfield?

Do you think he would be much of an improvement on Jamie O'Hara though?

I would pain me to see O'Hara let go and us sign Adam.

I always wanted to see O'Hara given a proper run in the team as I felt he had that fighting quality, would die for the shirt and as above has a quality left peg.

Not sure I'd see the point in Adam. He was starting to fade anyway towards the end of the season and he is the sort of player who needs a team built around him.

You could possibly argue that we need a bit of creative competition for VdV but I'm not convinced Adam is the man to do that.
