Looks like Adebayor and Rossi then from the sounds of it.

I don't hold out much hope however.

Does anybody know how long Bents has left on his contract?

Interesting that it sounds like we're still in for Rossi. Sounds like it'll be a big fee though so not sure we'll get very far there. I also don't see how we get round the wages issue with Adebayor.

Interesting that POTL doesn't mention Llorente. I don't see us getting both him and Adebayor so maybe our preference is Adebayor?

IMO if he was happy to come that would include his wages being dropped.

I don't see how a player would genuinly feel "happy to come" yet his wages, as if controller by some seperate group outwith himself, are what prevents him from coming.

Unless the terminology used should be more along the lines of "he will come if we pay him big money". Which shows him up to be a bit of a prick, not that we never already knew that.

I think there are more factors than just money (although i'd admit that is the major player). It might mean that he is happy moving back down to London and likes the club, our players, manager etc. He is just saying that he would be happy to play for Tottenham in theory - then the money comes into play.

I'm guessing two more seasons. So, end of 2012-2013.

updates:

Blue- wages still the issue.

Yellow- trying to negotiate fee. Lack of willingness from other clubs to meet fee or show any concrete interest are working in our favour.

Diarra- looking more likely as the days go by.

Jj- correct has been offered an extended deal- mainly as happy to fight for a place/be a squad player.
Hutton- will go to villa.
Bentley- like trying to shift ice to an eskimo.
Gio- agreed sale to udinese.

There will be more.

Potl

But has Gio agreed to Udinese? Wasn't that the sticking point all along?

We would have to break the bank for Rossi, no doubt about it. If we're gonna get stingy we may as well just give up now.

I also find it interesting POTL doesn't mention Llorente. No one else is mentioning Rossi and despite them being different types of players I could only see one or the other due to how much they would cost respectively.

Well that football_agent_9 on Twitter seems to think it could be Llorente. This was posted prior to POTL :

'Spurs & Bilbao are close to agreeing a fee for Llorente. Things still need to be ironed out..2x Strikers could be in North London soon.'

Should be in the Twitter thread, but I'm just showing that Llorente is still thought of as an option, at least to some. Also, that lions being yellow is doing the rounds on COYS. If that's what it's come down to, bloody hell. I personally think it's Rossi.

The stock exchange announcement said "up to 6 years", but there have been no details about whose side any option might be on. He could still be with us in August 2014!

I thought Juventus had a bid accepted but couldn't agree personal terms? Maybe yellow is not Rossi.

Why Rossi?

I thought that Nilmar was the one that was looking the most likely for Yellow, particularly as Villareal sold the other fella off and weren't in need of the Rossi money.

Not to mention that he wasn't interested in us but, allegedly, Nilmar was.

God, I can feel another Captain Kirk moment coming on here;

Well 'blue' almost certainly is Adebayor, that we do know but it's interesting to hear a bit more about 'yellow' which I still wouldn't necessarily like to commit to being Rossi and could quite conceivably be someone we haven't yet mentioned.

Some encouraging news regarding outgoings, except that f*cking playboy Bentley...

Other way around I think. They were £5m short of Villarreal's asking price. Rossi wanted the move.

I really think Rossi is dead in the water. I really do.

It must be someone else. Maybe someone that we were after that we didn't know about?

I think I'd love it to be Nilmar - based on nothing but the fact he was in my FIFA Ultimate Team for aaaaaaaaaaages.

No they didn't. Their agent said that Juve refused to stump up an extra couple of million and that was the sticking point.
