plainly obvious who potl is talking about. Probably worth buying Llorente over adebayor. Sell on value for one. Llorente and Rossi. Oh but a dream.

What are the odds that we still won't have made any signings of note before the last day of the transfer window? And then at 10:45pm, DL phones HR and asks him what he thinks of Carlton Cole (aka Mr. Blue).... if he likes him then maybe there's a chance we could land him!!

Something by the start of the week would be particularly nice, if the players in question are indeed Rossi, Adebayor and Diarra, they all speak English already which should hopefully speed up the settling in process. Our earlly run of games are 'challenging'...

United, Citeh, Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal in the first 7.

Think the Blue is Drogba? Or has it been confirmed as Adebayor?

I think it's definately Adebayor. No chance of Chelsea selling us Drogba if we won't play ball over modders.

We would have to break the bank for Rossi, no doubt about it. If we're gonna get stingy we may as well just give up now.

I also find it interesting POTL doesn't mention Llorente. No one else is mentioning Rossi and despite them being different types of players I could only see one or the other due to how much they would cost respectively.

I think llorente would be an alternative to Adebayor and Rossi something different. I guess we'd like "one big one small" combo however i can't see us getting both llorente and Rossi owing to the cost. So maybe we are lining up all three and taking 2. I'd suggest financially speaking IF we could get Rossi (who seems to be our primary target) and it costs £30m then we'd probably just want Ady on loan with maybe an option next summer (offsetting the cost of circa £20 for next season). However if Rossi was a no go then the £30m would be invested in llorente - at that point we could then also take up the loan for Ady if it could be worked out but there would be less need as we would have the number 9 we are after.

When reality slaps me upside the head and i realise what i'm talking about i will undoubtably discover that we are Tottenham and we are currently looking at 6th in the league so the likes of and Italian or Spanish regular international signing for us at potentially twice our transfer record is pretty.........slim. But it certainly makes my shitty job more fun having something this good to think about.

I can't be at the Lane tomorrow but i hope to hear plenty of

We want LLorente say we want Llorente

or

I really think Rossi is dead in the water. I really do.

It must be someone else. Maybe someone that we were after that we didn't know about?

I think I'd love it to be Nilmar - based on nothing but the fact he was in my FIFA Ultimate Team for aaaaaaaaaaages.

From what POTL has been saying in the last couple of days the non-Adebayor part of the equation has been a long term target. I'm not convinced Nilmar fits that bill.

I agree with you about Rossi though. Don't think he's got the appetite to come here and I don't think we've got the appetite to spend the 30m plus that they supposedly want for him.

I'll say it now though...if we manage to sign Rossi + Llorente/Adebayor then I think we can win the league. Sadly I personally don't think we'll sign any of them.

Completely agree with you, but were we after Nilmar in January? I can't recall that he was one of our supposed targets back then, while Rossi was....

...only asking because POTL claimed that B&Y were targets in January.

Still don't understand the signing of Diarra when Modric, Huddlestone, Sandro, Jenas are all going to be here, and Livermore and Palacios too at this rate.

Either ade or llor would turn us into title contenders.

Not sure what's gotten into Potl.

Given yesterday's weather, and today's likely weather, maybe the storm itk really was just referring to the weather.

Have to say I generally agree with both parts of that. However I still think we might somehow manage to sign one of them, and by one of them I mean Adebayor.

Have to admit the yellow does sound like Rossi as in no one meeting the valuation yet... but in reality it could be anyone... did anyone pick up on the fact that Jenas is getting a new deal?

Things certainly seem to be gathering pace, but still my problem with this transfer nirvana is that we still haven't shifted out enough of our surplus players.

IMO, if we were to get rid of a couple by say, Monday, then I would expect one, maybe two of the players mentioned signing shortly afterwards.

POTL's latest still doesn't get us any closer to cracking who yellow is unfortunately. Rossi had interest from Juventus but that seems to have died away, has Llorente had any serious interest this window? Personally think Llorente is yellow.

If Blue is Adebayor, then I can't see Llorente being Yellow. Surely they are too similar?

I think the fact Redknapp has spoken publicly about Rossi and that there was definately an accredited interest in him January time, to which POTL alluded to, especially with all the 'bup bup Americano' malarkey I think it's safe to put 2 & 2 together here.

From what POTL has been saying in the last couple of days the non-Adebayor part of the equation has been a long term target.

I've seen comments along the lines of 'If a deal for Rossi is off, then Yellow must be Llorente etc' Why must that be so? Why couldn't Rossi have been Yellow and POTL has got it (shock horror) WRONG?

I don't understand why B&Y must be made to fit whoever we may sign.

Also, I can understand cryptics when there's a good reason behind them, but this B&Y business, if the long term target stuff is to be believed concerns players whose names have long been associated with a transfer to THFC, rending the need for a cryptic at all to be about as useful as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest.

If the use of a cryptic in this instance wasn't to protect source or sensitive info, which as i've said seems highly unlikely, then it was all about ego all along.
