Some of his finishing has been quite stunning this season, Ade's in comparison is embarassing tbh. Left foot, right foot, headers, volley's, tap ins - the Hunter gets it done

check his stats for club and country since he became a pro

career appearances 366, career goals 237 and a lot of those appearances as sub

31 goals in 50 Dutch appearances and nearly half of those as sub

now give me the stats that don't include his time with ajax.

231 Games, 133 Goals. Still better than 1 in 2. Quite a few of those at Milan and RM were sub appaearances too, despite scoring whenever given a chance.

Big target man, good touch, two footed, good in the air.

I can understand why some people are reluctant to get him in.

I totally don't get it.

Yes but not like Adebayor, he's a superior version of Defoe.

Raul plays off him at Schalke, VDV can fill that role.

For comparison, obviously a little bit of oranges to apples but the French league seems to be viewed with the same disdain as the Bundesliga by some on here so he's hardly banged them in prolifically at the thuper-highest level either every single yr of his career, Ade has 146 Goals in 404 Games.

Every time that we have been linked with him I have wanted him, but certain posters used to shoot me down. The guy scores goals, we need a goal scorer. His movement is better than Defoe, his hold up play is good. His anticipation is good.

He would flourish at this club

I reckon he probably could many weeks. His hold up play is better than (or at least as good as) someone like Crouch for example. In the middle of a 433 he'd be very good.

These are the important things I think. Our future should be a 4-5-1/4-3-3 so the central man in that needs to be able to hold the ball up as well as bang in the goals.

If you asked me whether I'd choose Adebayor or Huntelaar I'd choose Adebayor everytime, but that is admittedly based on Huntelaar from a couple of years back. If his hold up play has improved then he may be a fantastic option.

From what I can make out in 2008/9 he scored 8 goals in 20 games, 13 starts 7 as sub for Real Madrid.

2009/10 he scored 7 goals in 25 games, 11 starts and 14 as sub for AC Milan.

In both cases they are league games, the source was an ESPN soccer stats site so don't know how accurate but it was quite detailed. Not too bad stats to be fair.

He showed a lot of bravery for his goal at Wembley and a nice run off the ball helped Robben get his first goal, only for Van Persie he would probably start for Holland. If we could get him we should.

To be fair the lad has only come good this season, a lot of people saw his stats at Ajax and thought...this is it.

But he has moved around and learned and finally now is in a good, exciting side who create good chances and he is just oozing confidence.

He would be a great signing, for 20m Euros, a bargain

Neither is Ade then. Hardly useless is he? What of the rest of our strikers.

Sir Les in his pomp - hardly the all round article but what a blyddi scorer and effective enough.

Obviously it would be lovely to be able to sign Higuain and the like but highly unlkely for us right now. Huntelaar, whilst individually not the highest level of player out there has many attributes and ones which neatly tally up with our needs.

Do people just see a pale Darren Bent when they watch him or something?

Much much less of a gamble than Lenadro who many seem to get a chubby at the mere mention of. If we can get them both, great but other than age and one actually doing the biz in Europe, why so much love for one and apathy for the other?

He used to be very much in the mould of Darren Bent in that he scored alot if given the chances but didn't do much else. That's fine in some teams but the way we are currently playing relies on the strikers bringing the likes of Bale/Lennon/Modric/VdV/Hazard into the game.

If Huntelaar has added that to his game then he'd be an excellent signing.

Has he played much with VDV in the national team? If they have shown some sort of previous understanding it could be a great signing. I was for signing him at a reasonable price in the summer, and I was impressed with his cameo against England last month, a great run to let Robben score and a wonderful header aswell showing great desire to score (so much so he had to go to the hospital after).

I thought he was fairly impressive in the 20 games he played for Real Madrid, think he got about 8 goals. Didn't think much of him at Milan. Seems to be doing the job at the moment and I would take him.

Spurs buy dutch striker and belgian centre back. Hmmmm? Sound familiar?
