Tom Huddlestone has been trying to raise cash for Cancer Research UK by growing his fro until he next scores a goal for Spurs.

Despite his long lay off through injury he has not reached anywhere near to his goal. For all those who'd like to help Tom out with this you can donate at...

It would have been nice to see a few more of his teammates contributing in a visible way - only wayne routledge as far as i can see so far - its a great charity and would have been a good opportunity for the players to have raised awareness

amazing that he only donated ~£500 which is like 2% of his weekly salary (assuming he's on 25k pw net)

That was exactly my thought too. £75,000, the rest of the squad could've surpassed that target by chipping in 1/2 a day's pay each, if not even less than that.

Fuck off you lot. He's raising money for charity by doing something, it's not about what he's donating.

The rest of the squad probably have their own charities, foundations etc e.g Defoe and Ade setting up schools and academy in other countries.

Players DO earn a lot of money, but don't forget they get taxed half of it too, and a lot of them do good with what's left.

Open your minds. Shut your mouths. Think.

the point i was making was that if you or i were raising money for charity we would see our work colleagues support us with some donations - not a single spurs player other than an ex colleague has made the effort.

So instead the expectation is that the rest of us who earn normal wages and pay our taxes are expected support him whilst his fellow players who earn on average 45k a week dont (and by the way footballers pay very little tax due to various tax shielding arrangements)

also by making a visible donation the players could show their support for a fine charity which hopefully would lead to more money and awareness being raised

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

You are right, many pros do support a charity, but a few quid wouldn't hurt any of them either (i am talking a £100 here or there).

Also, do they really lose half of it to tax?? it seems that if you have a few bob you can find a "Legal" way round that!

At least THudd put his hand in his pocket and donated, people slagging him off for only giving £500 should be ashamed. £500 is better than nothing plus his drawn attention to Cancer.

I've donated twice since he started. Always disappointed to see how many donations are 5 or 10 quid from Spurs fans and yet there are pretty much no large donations from other footballers. I'd expect to see plenty that were £1000+ at least.

Yes, I don't know why I call it Tottenham Community, I guess I just think it sounds better...

That's actually what I called the site at first but I changed my mind as it didn't sound as good as Spurs Community :p
