Got this from Infostrada just now:

Arsenal remained unbeaten for the 16th PL match following a European tie (12 wins, 4 draws).

Who says that Europe (CL in Arse's case, but still) is a hindrance?

I think we need a little perspective here we lost 1-0 away where we have won once might I add against an arsenal team used to playing at this intensity. Half of our team were playing in their first derby.

Add to that our most creative player(erikson) wasn't available!

They will all be better for the experience. I'm pissed we lost but things will get better and confident come the return fixture we will give a much better account of ourselves

That, if I was a Tottenham fan I wouldn't be worried about today. Having watched the game (admittedly after a few bevvies) it's the least disappointed i've been after a NLD defeat in recent history; early in the season, still equal on points and we genuinely do have a squad to be wary of.
Souness admitted he'd had a few bevvies before watching the game???

Europe's not a hinderance.

Europa league is ;)

It's been said many times that you scientifically need 3 days to recover from a competive game of football.
More often than not, in the Champ's League you get it.

In the Europa League you only get it if you are scheduled to play in a Monday night game.

Can't understand the negativity... 6 of our first team today weren't playing with us last year... It'll take time to gel. They have been playing together 4 weeks and we've still another 3 players to introduce to the squad. I for one are very optimistic about the future.. Arsenal looked ordinary today and I for one thought we played well - ok we weren't fantastic but we weren't ever going to be this early in the season - let everyone bed in and we'll be a force

So Thursday to Sunday isn't 3 days then?

Point id like to make, in the pub I was in when lloris tackled Walcott 20ft outside the area, a gooner jumped up and shouted PENALTY. Hugo could have run up and shot him in the face 20 ft outside the area and it still wouldnt be a penalty.

Deadline day special, kaka on a free and contreaou.

Soldado
Kaka - eriksen - lamela
Paulinho - sandro
Contreaou - verts - kaboul - walket
Lloris

Europe:

Defoe
Chadli - holtby - townsend
Dembele - capoue
Rose - Daws - vlad - naughton
Friedel

Sell Benny, gomes, gylfi, Lennon, ade and loan for carroll so we earn money this window and less wages while improving the team.

This should be managable and would make us freakin amazing.

Once all settled we'll be fine. Eriksen was missing also. Give it time to gel and let the good times roll. Rome was not built in a day.

Townsend looked good, Rose wasn't as bad as I expected. One lapse in the defense cost us. Could (and maybe should) have had a penalty when Soldado was pushed (several of those were given outside the box and even less of pushes). Dominant in possession and had the same amount of shots on target. Only 1-0 and not 5-2 this time. They got lucky with a few blocks here and there. So I'm looking onwards and upwards.

We will be ok. Our creativity will come from Lamela and Eriksen.

However I have been banging on about Walker and Rose. We desperately need to improve on both of them IMO

Lol, No. (unfortunately it's a full 72 hours)

The Thursday games are played late, the Sunday games are not.

Well the teams that play in the CL on Wednesday more often than not play on Saturday and sometimes have '12.45 kick off so not having that excuse really.

We will definitely be fine in the long run, the team is very strong and Eriksen will make a world of difference as will Lamela if both start.

So i just imagined them being called the English Barca (or Barca lite) for god knows how many years?

Arsenal have been passing most teams off the park for almost 20 years.

And come on. We were at least Daily Express standard. ;)

About 5 years ago maybe. Not now

And no one says that any more

You can't be the best passing team in Europe and park the bus at the same time. Can everyone agree on what they did, at least?

If you mean 3 days as in 72 hours from end of one game to start of the next, no. Then you add in the travel factor and how that impacts on recovery.....but that's why we have a big squad to lessen the impact so no excuse as far as I'm concerned

YiddoInPoland

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

was a bit of a lame duck of a match, but we have two problems. 3 similar players in the middle of the park and poor descision making in the final third.

The first will change with the arrival of erikson and holtby getting fit. The second i hope will change when these guys have played more together.

Negatives, Townsend as talented as he is does not make the right choices for me, today maybe it was due to lack of movement in front of him but the cut in and shoot all the time is predictable, Walker too is too quick to lash in a cross before looking up. Obviosly not scoring from open play is a worry.

Positives, we controlled the middle of the park and apart from a few chances on the break were not really troubled which has not been the case most time at the emirates. Lamela looked silky on the ball, can't wait to see more of him.

Arsenal are a very good team, who know each other very well and i think people had written them off as pushovers for some reason, they will as they always are be in the mix at the end, the thing is at the moment they are light and we are not and over the whole season that will be telling.
