I think people wanted 4-4-2 because they were seeing some dross performances with the 4-5-1. That doesn't mean they're wrong because we lost one game. Bit of an over reaction for me. Yes we were beat, but they beat us earlier on in the season with AVB.

I think we're all scratching our heads now

Nope I'm looking at our twatish fans. It doesn't matter who the hell is in charge of the team or club, there will always be people who take more delight in being negative than actually behaving appropriately.

There needs to be a big sea change and it needs to start a little closer to home.

I think.. no, I'm SURE that if you were a fan of any but a tiny handful of clubs in this country, you would have exactly the same complaints. I truly don't think Tottenham fans are different from 95% of other club's fans. Sure you don't have to like how football fans behave, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree if you somehow think we're unique in this way.

I'd be absolutely amazed if AVB didn't want Vlad for the system we were playing under him.

I don't think we're unique. That's not to say I don't like how we behave and I can't be outspoken about it. In fact I try to do it just as much and as fairly as many on here (for example) do towards manager xor player y.

Another attempt to derail the response to a specific point. If you want to ask me another unrelated question then start a separate thread and initiate a Q&A session with me.

Thanks.

Just kidding.

I don't know where you're going with this but my view on the Redknapp sacking was that part of me was pretty miffed by it all but the other part was relieved because of how the fans were acting on that situation too.

Fair enough. I''ve just picked up a vibe on here that many posters criticizing the fans were happy to see Harry go because they simply didn't like him as a person. Whereas Avb was a good chap so he should have got unqualified support.

Not for one moment did I expect a miracle.

Injuries or not, the formation was suicidal.

Dembele has been off the pace big time recently and always looks knackered. Pairing him with Sig who is in no way shape or form a central midfielder was ridiculous.

Why or why did Defoe start/stay on ... yes he produced the cross for the goal but his finishing was abysmal and he was offside every bloody time we played the ball to him.

We should have stuck with 3 central midfielders and possibly played Fryers at centre back and pushed Capoue back up into central midfield.

None of those sound like surefire fixes. Dembele was our only fit true CM when you take into account Capoue needed to play CB. You can't play Fryers and Chiriches at CB against a hoofballing squad like West Ham. That's more suicidal than playing Siggy in CM at the cost of playing Capoue at CB.

I could argue that Bentaleb would have been a better option than Siggy simply because he knows how to play in a deeper midfield role, but that's seriously asking a lot of a young player that wouldn't be paired with an enforcing DM against a physical side like West Ham. You risk really affecting his head if he's battered in his first EPL-talent level experience.

Our squad was extremely short-handed tonight because of injuries (Sandro, Vertonghen) and suspensions (Paulinho, Dawson).

The problem was not the tactics tonight. The problem is we keep relying on Kaboul as making up our CB depth chart when he's completely unable to stay fit anymore and we don't have adequate backup at LB. It's going to be an ongoing trend unless we can get Rose/Verts back healthy for the rest of the season or we can address it in January.

Yeah, I've stated I think he will play the 4-4-2 for now just because I think he will put out there what Levy wants and that's his highest earners on the pitch. A lot of things on Twitter right now are calling for Levy to speak out, and I can't argue against that. I'm more worried about Levy and how he's handling this club right now (not so much over the years as I view his reign on the whole as pretty successful but basically what's going on right now)

I can't really get upset at Sherwood. He's only keeping this job if he really makes us challengers for Top 4 and we do some special things. And, for a first time manager I don't think that's reasonable. Which is why I look to our 'fearless leader' Levy to help give us some hope. Instead, he sits in silence and the only glimpses we get of him is peering at our players on the pitch through the television.
I think we only played 442 today(which was more like a 4231/4411/etc) because of the Adebayor situation. I dont expect us to do it against Southampton

Yeah that's actually part of my grievance. It's the fact you have to side with one system, player or manager and that clouds their judgement and it adds to this never ending negativity.

It's impossible for some to remain tight lipped and put the club ahead of their opinions. They rate their own self importance too highly (particularly when they probably have achieved fuck all in terms of football - so have no real evidence to back up their opinions).

I know I'm pissing into the wind with this, but that's my onions and I can only try and shout as loudly against those that are so outspoken.

AVB said it himself and he was right. The fans are fucking shit, even the players don't like playing at home. Look at our home form. Isnt it a coincidence? We've looked much better away all season. He was right but there's no point in me arguing it is there? You're the very fans he means.

The irony is it was only when Ade went off and we switched from 4-4-2 to 5 in the middle that we lost control of the game.
