Couldn't give a shit if someone spells a name wrong. When i spell Eriksen my phone tries to "correct" it. As long as you know who they're talking about it shouldn't matter.
What is a pain is when a poster refers to a player by their initials. It takes me a while to work out especially when they do it for opposition players.

Agree with this. Not everyone is good at spelling, or typing or are just not confident using computers. Do we really want those people to feel unwelcome on here?

There are several thousand words in the English language, but only twenty odd Spurs players. Bit of a difference, don't you think?

Were people agreeing that the spelling of our players' names isn't that important or that those people who spell the names incorrectly should be made to feel unwelcome?

Some of them can be forgiven, like when we first signed Pavlyuchenko (yes I did Google that) I couldn't spell his name correctly so just called him Pav. :D
Some of them are hard to spell, but in Eriksen´s case.. No! He´s danish, not bloody swedish. I´m norwegian by the way ;)

I was told a story about these two old dears at work when computers first came in... One of them moved the mouse the other clicked the button, fucking desperate stuff.

Does my head in. Every time.

I have to back off, though. I have eidetic spelling: when I learn a new word, the order of the letters is just part of learning the word and I never spell it wrong, ever. I don't understand how people can chronically get words and names wrong. Isn't the way the letters are ordered intrinsic to the word? If the letters are in a different order, it must be a different word.

It's taken me decades to appreciate that not everyone is like that and, frankly, a lot of me still just wants to slap people who misspell words (especially people who spell the same name two different ways in the same post, I mean, WTF?).

It's very hard for people to whom spelling comes easily to accept that people who chronically misspell words aren't just being fucking lazy. But I guess they aren't. I think. Most of the time. Well. Sometimes, anyway...

Seriously. I really don't get it. I've just had to accept that people are different. Gritted teeth.
