Never heard a UK commentator ever call Davies by his name . Its always Davis . Foreign commentators are generally correct though.

They are pronouncing it correctly though. Davies is pronounced "Davis" in Wales.

It fucking pisses me off when commentators get players names right. It reduces me to 1,999 things to moan about :D

Erikson is one of the more persistent.
Dele has saved us from Delli Ali.
Calling him Mauricio saves a lot of bother.
But then a rose by any other name smells just as sweet

I just think it's a sign of ignorance in all wakes of life if you can't be bothered to learn how to spell someone's name properly unless you have dyslexia or other difficulties.

The same goes with those who can't be bothered to learn how to pronounce names properly.

I'm crap at pronouncing mainly foreign names but will find out from others and try my best to remember it or will ask someone to remind me rather than lazily just continuing to pronounce incorrectly (Sven-Goran Eriksson being a prime example as Goran pronounced with a silent 'G' but hardly any of the media could be bothered to pronounce it properly).
